Better at longer ranges. Accurate Fan Shot from 60m is soooooo nice!

The SR Combat pistol has a 48m range, while the Republic has a 64m range. I'd never use a 48m pistol as my main combat weapon unless I was prepared to use something else from 48+ range.

I presume that your weapon is sliced. My SR Combat is slightly worse than that and it is sliced. If your server can in fact produce unsliced SR Combat's in that range, then those weapons probably are as good or better than most other server's unsliced Republic Blasters. But then, your server's Republic Blasters are probably good too.
A sliced Republic Blaster on my server still easily beats the weapon given above, especially considering the SR Combat's 48m range and its -90 accuracy at that range.
My SR Combat pistol is very lacking due to the absence of decent Plumbum Iron on my server. The best smith on our server (in my opinion) could still only make a sub 150 max damage pistol.
Still, I would pick the Republic Blaster over the SR Combat pistol if for no other reason than the maximum range. Unless yours has is even more significantly different from mine, your maximum range is 48m and ideal range is around 12m I think. The maximum and ideal ranges for the Republic Blaster are more in line with the scout. 64m max and I believe my ideal range is around 20m.
I'm not in the game and can't get exact numbers but from my experience, the SR Combat seemed more costly in terms of HAM than the Republic Blaster.
I'm on Chilastra and my RB is 87-306 damage2.2speed
i believe i got like a 25% damage slice on it.
And lets not forget it sounds cool. Awesome range mods, resonable HAM costs and it sounds cool.
