I am starting to have to drop parts of some Profs. Question is , if I am a Master Pistoleer, can I drop the Ranged Support Tree in Marksman without it having any affect on the Pistoleer skills.

thanks,

z

I just dropped mine this weekend and I see a noticable increase in misses from a distance.I assume this is the ranged aiming that I now lack.

These are just my observations, your stats may be quite different.

I wouldn't drop Ranged 3 -- WarningShot is the best PvE special in the game, in my opinion. It's also useful in PvP against CH pets.

Ranged 4 (Suppression Fire) probably isn't worth the 5 skill points, though.

He means Warning Shot, not Stopping Shot. And it has been very useful to me.

I dropped Ranged 4 and kept the lower ones. Seems like a good thing to do.

Whoops ... you're right. I'm a bit tired this morning.

I edited it so it doesn't confuse anyone.

It depends on your personal preference and whether you are doing PvE, PvP, or both.

I love Suppression Fire because I can alternate it with Pistolwhip to basically keep mobs from ever hitting me (Suppress, shoot alot, KD, shoot alot, suppress, shoot alot).Suppression isalso handy for getting an extra 5m from a TKA that's chasing you or freezing a pet for a few seconds.

Suppression has saved my butt so many times in PvE it's not even funny, but I wouldn't say it's worth having if you are going solo endgame PvP.

I also love suppression fire. If a creature aggros me instead of my pet, I use it so the pet gets aggro. I also use it a lot in group hunting whenever a creature is chasing a medic or something.

I believe all specials have their purpose and are very useful. It just depends on your style of play. Personally, warning shot and suppression fire are very valuable to me. when a mob argo's me I just hit suppression fire and if done right it will make them kneel and when they get back up there is a very big chance they will then walk towards you slowly. this allows you to stand still at a distance and get a whole lot of shots off with no accuracy decrease from moving. I fight high level mobs that I shouldn't also, so these special are even more important. Only problem I have is that after using suppression fire successfully it is extremely difficult to get it to work again on the same npc, I get a lot of failed to change targets position.

My advice is, if you don't use a special or can do without it then go ahead and drop the tree or a few boxes. combat xp is not hard to get if you want to get ranged support back later.

Ok. I like warningshot and supressfire. So if I keep them I will have to drop some from Pistol. What is the best boxes to drop if you absloutely have to ?

Drop from Pistoleer not pistol tree in Marksman.

Well, you'd have to drop the Master Box of pistoleer which is a big hit unless you have something else providing pistol speed. If you do drop that though then I would suggest dropping the first line (what is that called now?) because Bodyshot 3 isn't really worth it and annoying dodge animations get in the way of running away.
