Thread: New pistols and stuff

TheTC community has been playing around with the publish, and have found some pistol-related tidbits. I direct you to these threads:
I don't know anything else about these items (not being able to go online at home and all, and having limited time on the forums at work), but I thought I'd highlight them here. They look pretty cool though. 
Before anybody brings up the subject, another correspondent pointed out on the correspondent forums that Pistoleers have been getting more new weapons than anybody, to which I had to say this:
Yes we have, and we'd rather have our specials fixed.
If this is an effort to make up for broken specials with new weapons.. Pistoleers won't bepacified so easily. If anything, it makes them wonder if their concerns have truly been heard. It's like going to the market and asking for an apple, butbeing wordlessly handedan orange. Sure, you like the orange, you appreciate the orange, but you have to wonder if the produce guy was getting the message. It's only natural to feel that way.
And then, as some have pointed out, other professions are going and saying "Hey, how about some oranges?" and the produce guy is shaking his head... "No, I'm sorry, the Pistoleer got the last one. I have these apples though."

That's very well-said.
And there's no telling which pistols we get, either.

Not that it isn't nice to get new pistols but I hope they are a little more availible than the Geo and DE-10. When I hear other people complain about pistoleer getting a bunch of new weapons I always try to remind them that all those new pistols we get are also some of the rarest and most expensive crafted weapons in the game. I still haven't seen someone with a DE-10 in game but maybe I just don't get out much.

They're still relatively rare. I get a lot of people coming up and asking me what kind of pistol it is, what kind of damage it does, etc. And this is on Bria.
I had to do the majority of the Jabba Themepark last night JUST to get to talk to Boba Fett JUST so I can get in the first room of the Death Watch Bunker so I can go loot pieces. The DE-10 I have is a gift from a parting friend, but because Master Pistoleer speed sucks I can't wield a 4.3 speed pistol effectively, so I need to get the pieces to make a 'better' one.
I ended up completing the Jabba Themepark since I already had to run missions for 5 / 7 guys in the damn park just to get into the Throne room.

Yeah, on shadowfire DE-10's are still non-existent, even to be crafted.
Saw the cheapest 1 going for over 2 mill.
I've made numerous runs into DWB, we even crafted a helm,
but in all my trips, 20+, no one in our groups has ever
even looted a DE-10 part on shadowfire.

While I certainly wont balk at the addition of new pistols, I must say I would rather see our specials fixed first. Im having a hard enough time tracking down the parts to build a DE-10, and it took millions of credits to get the two Geo Blasters I have. Fixing our specials seems so simple, and it would go such a long way to helping our profession, I just have a hard time comprehending why its taking them so long.
On a side note, this publish is shaping up to be one of the better ones Ive ever seen them push through. While my pistoleer doesnt really care about new weapons, my carbineer could not be more excstatic about the new carbines. Combine that with the new quests, lower starport wait times, no empty vendors, the vehicle warping bug going away, and the addition of a toggle for Screen Shaking and I must say Im very pleased with what they are doing here. Now if we just get them to fix our specials already and I would be set!

Don't forget you'll be able to get FS ranged weapon speed now too. Definately a boon for solely master pistoleers.

Right with you Radon - I'm not really interested in having extra weapons if my attacks with them STILL DON'T WORK after nearly a year of explanation to the devs.

While I'm venting - These had better not be more ultra-rare, high end, loot drops - since most of teh high end mobs you have to take down to get tham ARE RESISTANT TO OUR TEENY, TINY AP0 and AP1 pistols.
I think the months of abuse from the Dev team are starting to get to me....

I dropped BH pistols and went Master pistoleer only.
Sad, Very Sad.
What a worthless profession. Speed capped and using BH specials, it was not unbearable, but with the speed a master pistoleer gets (which is incredibly low) this prof is bad joke. Working specials would be a good start, but there is ALOT of work that needs done. When you compare a master rifleman to a master pistoleer, it is hysterically funny how gimped pistols are.
New weapons and loot has been used as a distraction for a while now. Look at Mando armor, that was a dev bone being thrown to the poor BH/SL/ and Commandos.
If pistoleer had only 1 weapon in this whole game they could use, with working, effective special attacks, I would be happy. 2.4 million for a decent Genosian pistol (which is the only pistol worth having) is crazy, but reality. Right now, a fencer dabbling in pistols for more dodge and extra defenses are the only reason to even be a pistoleer.
and I thought BH was bad....The horror.....The horror..Now show me the Monkey!
