I'm sorry you guys didn't find out from me. I had resigned privately, and thought they would be hanging onto me until it was more conveneint for me to step down. Apparently not. I wasn't expecting the "position opening" post to go up so soon. My apologies for the surprise.
I am resigning from correspondent because I no longer play Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided. My friends have all gone, I've maxed out my character, and I've nothing left to do. When I say all my friends are gone, I mean it. My guild has even been disbanded by the system for lack of members, mostly due to cancellations. The elder game (what you do when you are maxed) is supposed to be the GCW, but that is pretty dead at this point. Even with the GCW revamp looming on the horizon, I expect I wouldn't enjoy it much, as this game seems to be pretty PvP intensive (not my cup of tea). My IRL friends (who left many months ago) and I will be moving onto another game.
I've been trying to hang on because I know I am needed here, but the Combat Balance has been around the corner for ages now. You need and deserve a correspondent who plays and enjoys the game. I've busted by balls to give you all everything I can, but if I don't even want to log in and play the game anymore, my passion for corresponding it will continue to diminish. It's time for this to end. I wish it weren't so.
I will forever cherish the memories and relationships built here, and will continue to read up on what you people are up to.
And of course, until my replacement arrives and relieves me of duty, I will continue to correspond for the Pistoleer community to the best of my ability.
You guys know and trust me -- I know, you've made it clear and I thank you. You are worried about the replacement not being up to snuff for the turbulent times ahead. I assure you, he will be. We have multiple candidates in this community that would excel at the position. I will also remain for a time to advise him and offer some pointers, whoever he is. I don't want you guys to feel abandoned, so I will try to make thisas smooth a transition as possible.
I wish you all the best. It has been an honor to serve this community.

The honour was ours Randonb, trust me
Thanks for everything you've done for us as a community and for the game itself, you've done a sterling job and there are many (myself included) who are forever greatful to you for it.
While you're not gone yet, I hope you'll return eventually, brought back by a game that's changed enough to merit it. Good luck in everything you do, although I'm sure you won't need it judging from your peformance as correspondent.
Again, thank you, all the best and finally, fly fast and shoot straight

It's been an honor for us aswell. It's sad that you leave, but I can understand your reasons only too well... I want to thank you for what you have done for us, very few would have held on to it this long I guess. I wish you and your friends the best for the future and hope to meet you again one day at another board.

good luck, fellow pistoleer
