Thread: Beyond Master Pistoleer?

To all Pistoleers, I am collecting info on what type of Prestige Class you would like to see after Master Pistoleer. For example...


After achieving Master Ranger you have now opened the paths to:


  1. The Outdoorsman (Big Game Hunter)

  2. Antarian Ranger (possesses minor force resistances and abilities)

  3. Combat Ranger (master of guerilla warfare)

Those were just examples of ideas I had for the Ranger profession. Now that you hopefully see where I am going with this idea, I would love to see where you would like thePistoleer to go after achieving the title of Master Pistoleer. Any and all input is welcome, but please try to keep it constructive.

Interesting post. Can't say a single solitary positive thing about being a master gunfighter, so as a suggestion for beyond pistoleer. Ill recomend what I do in the in live forum. Fix all our broken stuff now. It is a developer mentality to keep going on to the next thing while current and old things remain broke and unatended to. The devs are like magicians using misdirection, always trying to get us to look over there so we don't see whats over here. No offense, but I think your post is a little pre-mature. Why anyone would consider going beyond such a broke profession is beyond me. But I do admire your enthusiasm, so keep the faith. Hails Out.

Let me explain the intent. I want to hear from the community where they see a Master Pistoleer going after he has attained Master level. Thats all.Pre-mature? In terms of what? The fact that they have yet to fix the profession in its current incarnation and that that should be taken care of first? Of course! But that doesn't mean we can't use our imaginations and put forth some ideas here. I just want to get the feedbackof the people currently working these professions, so I can submit something a bit more than the few ideas I have come up with on my own. Two heads are better than one, so why not 100 headsor1000 headsor however many people play this game. With all that input, it will better help me organize a cohesive document.

A sort of Pistoleer/TK proffesion where they use pistols but may have one or 2 specials where fists or legs are involved and also in the specials pistoleers are more acrobatic in terms of rolling on the floor and maybe diving off to the side and ducking when they shoot on a special ect.

I must say that the CH's did a better job responding to this samethread so far, but I will give it a try.


The Duelist : A class with special attacks directed toward humaniods. This would count towards PVP and PVE MOBS that were humaniod, with this class maybe pistoleers can step back into PVPing. Increased dodge vs ranged attacks from humanoids, Gut Shot: which stops a charging MOB in its tracks (posture change w/ good health dmg), Speed shot: a special that give you a burst of firing speed of your default attack that lasts for a few rounds but you can't use otherspecials, if your gun is fast enough you can break the speed cap.


The Dual Weilder: The holy grail of pistoleers. A new class that allows two pistols to be fired at once. The specials would be likethe same as we have now but having to re learn them for two weapons, as well a having a intimadate type move where you twirl you guns and scare them with your skills.



I know I have another one in me somewhere, but I can think of it right now. I repost if I think of any more

dual pistols would be cool but why would we have to learn the skills we already know for 2 pistols??? i suggest if this happens either fixing pistoleer profession or giving a couple new pistoleer specials.

I don't think we need more professions on top of the not yet completely working and balanced ones. Furthermore,
woulnd't those elite-elite-elite professions take away from the current be-all-you-want system?

The Duelist

I liked the previous poster's idea, and just wanted to mention it again.





The Death-Dealer

This is a purely offensive "prestige" class. The Death-Dealer would be able to target specific HAM pools first and foremeost, with damage output being fearsome. The major advantage the Death-Dealer would have would be this ability, but in addition there would be a single attack that would also drop an opponent to the ground and cause damage to the health pool.





The Evasionist

This is a purely defensive "prestige" class. The Evasionist would specialize in attacks that delay the opponenet (such as forcing to prone, KD, Dizzy, etc.) but would have marginally better damage output than a base Master Pistoleer. The Evasionist would also have much higher defensive stats than a Master Pistoleer.





The Assassin

This really is a class that could be a hybrid "prestige" class. I can see where it's prerequisite could be any combat profession, and what it would grant is huge accuracy and speed bonuses, but then also have a "conceal" option that would mask the player on the radar. The Assassin would also have some specials that could be performed with any weapon, but the accuracy and skill mods that the character has for the particular weapon they are using would determine effectiveness. The specials would target specific pools and have powerful DoT effects.

sounds cool- doesnt even have to be 4 trees- maybe only like 1- like "elite pistols"


perhaps a pistol damage mod that every 10 pts adds 10 damage to min/max and maybe throw in a special or two, like body blast that can do a "disease" onto the heatlh mod, that onlywounds secondary stats, but its curable by master medic maybe? and it woudl only last a certain amount of time


Elite Pistoleer would basically be the coolest guy ever hehe

i don't really think it is neccessary. there are already 3 pistol-related professions...


and...

well after master few thoughts come to mind


- Master Dodger

something on the lines of the Agents in the matrix, dodging ranged attacks....or something on these lines,

some kind of special on the lines of Center of Being, only - Pistol of Being- that would up our dodge and range defence (our rng def now is next to nothing)


- Dead-Eye

increase our Aim, specialy while moving, kind of the fast gunslinger from the wild west, can jump twirl, fire 2 shots in mid air and hit 2 nunas from 30m or something on these lines...


- GunSlinger Artist

on the lines of Teras Kasi, only with pistol. make it more defensive. specials that give extra def modifications, dodge or rng/melee def.


if any of this would be realised, it would be awsome.

of-course if some of our long time specialswould acctualywork, that would be realy nice.


-Point-blank shots???? why, oh why?, would i even get to point blank......maybe add some kind of special condition like stun...

-Multy-target pistol Shot.......longer name for Fan Shot....(make it multy target shot....not a cone shot. i.e every target at sertain rng 360 degrees)

-Disarm Shots...........why use if u can Stopping Shot....(make it do some kind of effect like panic shot from smugglers - i.e disarmmake the target delay next attack)

-Stopping Shot....when did it acctualy stop anything? (add some kind of special stance, like lower posture down.......i.e stop)

-Pistol Melee Def2 - make it Area KD.....oooooh, bit better then PistolMelee Def 1....or why have 2 if it dont do nothing....


all in alli was pistoleer from the start, and the essence of it keeps me always pistoleer.

i just love the gunslinging dodging cowboy of it.
