Honestly in my opinion i think the devs are out of there damn minds. There adding that whole new space quest bs and adding wookie armor instead of fixing what needs to be fixed. Wookies start requesting armor and sure enough in less than a month they get armor. All pistoleers request our specials to be fixed and have been asking for what hmm....6 months for our specials to get fixed and not a damn word...just some 2 months ago saying it would be fixed in 2 weeks... yeah right...just telll us the truth why your not fixing the most broken profession in the game. Im about ready to go down to there headquarters and start beating some @ss thats just my opinion on the subject. Im just getting a little tired of this crap

Well, when they fix us everything else will have to be fixed at the same time. So they've decided to roll out the whole package of fixed professions in the combat balance.

Yes, which has gotten delayed so many times that release is again TBA...

Well, to play the devils advocate, the devs said that they didn't want to roll out a combat system that was flawed (i.e. the latest crafting publish) and then take it all back. So I guess the devs need more time to tweak the combat balance and test it better before they roll it out. I guess they want to put out the combat balance that works from day 1, as opposed to what we go now.
On the other hand, it has been 9 months. They admit the combat mechanics in the game aren't good. They know they had to change it for awhile now. They're were many promises made. When I started playing again in February, I noticed a post from TH about the new combat system will be in starting February and continuing in each pubish. That hasn't happened. As I've said before, the problem lies with either the decision making of SOE's managment or not enought devs on the job (because of the space expansion) but even before the space expansion, I really don't thing there are enough devs for this game, but this is only my guess.

On this issue I have to take the devs side(/shudder). I would rather the combat revamp be pushed back as long as it takes to get it right, with maybe only a few tweeks here and there after it goes live, than to have them put it out when they originally forcasted it and have itnot be complete.
Would you rather they put out an incomplete update, or wait awhile longer and get a complete finidhed update? Either way people are going to whine and b!tch I guess.

Wookies also had to protest on one server in a attempt to crash the server before the devs gave in.

I wouldn't bet the farm on the new combat system anyway... there is already a combat system in place and it's still not working right after 9 months of "tuning"...
In my opinion there is no chance for the new combat sistem (whatever that might be) to work right out of the box.

Sadly, devs arent insane. They just have no clue about game balancing, they didnt play MUDs 10 years ago, and swg is just abasic MUD enginewith a pretty 3D interface instead of a text, sometime colorized
console. Some clever MUD headarchs resolved balancing by introducing logarithmic progression of combat skills, as linear (mostly used at that time)proved to be far too much unbalanced. I remind you swguses an exponential combat skill progression. How can you balance anything.
On those "clever" MUDs (reminding you again.. 10 years ago) on wichmastering aclass(profession)could take severals weeks, several mid-lvl players could takea master easily due to that logarithmic progression. Basically any high level characters could deal about the same damage output. ok, I'm really oversimplifying things for the example, hoping you got that.
Oh, and all those delaying/freezing/keeping_from_defending (understanddizzy/warcry etc)nasty weapons things got removed... proved far too much unbalancing. Dito with overpowered/multilayerbuffs, dito with overpowered armors.
Man, my thinks swg game designers are.. maybe too young ?

the devs just need to stop acting like they know how to run these new fangled computers and go back to playing with balls of yarn.

The devs know what they do but not fixing (even little temporary fixes) is making this game is rotting :/
I really have no fun in combat till the new system will be out.

Don't begrudge the wookiees their armor. They've been asking for it for a much longer time than you suggest, and honestly not being able to wear armor is a far bigger imbalance than only have a few working specials.
I agree that we need work, and I also agree that the devs are likely insane, but lets not go getting all uppity on other broken players because of it.

Perfect the combat balance? Alright then, at least roll out the special/profession fixes on time. Ya can't break what's already broken!
As for this whole new HAM system, I agree on delaying that to perfect it, but there is NO REASON to hold off on the fixes for specials.
