That's interesting. I have never used Suppression Fire because it has always seemed to me that using an attack round to cause damage with some other special was a more efficient use of a shot than to use it to simply cause a posture down. I may play around with that. The way I increase my chance of landing a successful KD with PMD1 is by simply repeating it if it doesn't work the first time. I find thatI can't just spam it one after another though or it doesn't work--I need to do a PMD1, and if it doesn't work, make 2 or 3 shotsof some other special (never a waste of time because you're causing damage with those shots), then repeat the PMD1. Now that I have a couple of FS melee defense skill boxes (not sure if this really has anything to do with this special, but it seems to for me), it seems to work more efficiently though--it takes afairly high-end mob to successfully resist one of my PMD1 attacks, and they rarely resist it twice in a row.

Spamming PMD1 doesn't work because even if you do land a successful KD with one attack, the next one will cause him to stand up. It's an annoying buggie thing about all KD moves.

Posture-Downing can also be very useful in PvP. Since the PvP Defense Stacking templates focus on Defense vs. KD so much, you'll never land a successful KD against a defense stacker who's taken some Thakitilo. But they're much weaker against PD, so a successful SupFire can bring a Fencer/TKM to his knees, and give you those precious seconds to gain a 10-15 meter advantage over him and kite his a$$ the rest of the fight.

One of the reasons Fencer was so effective for me was that I would stick a Dizzy (again, much easier to stick Dizzy than KD in PvP nowadays), and then use 1H-Lunge1 (PD move) to force him to his knees. When he tried to stand, he'd obviously fall over because of his Dizziness.

Pistoleers have an advantage in the PD world that most don't know about: RollShot, KickupShot and DiveShot all allow us to change posture (whether up or down) when we're Dizzy without falling over!

You've almost convinced me to add Suppression Fire to my toolbar. It's so filled with foods, specials, and macros though (all24 slots in mypistols toolbar) that I have learned to pick and choose carefully which specials I want to use, and I just ignore all the rest! I don't know what I'm going to do after the CURB if we actually get a full set of working specials. As for KipupShot, yeah, I remember you mentioning that recently, and that's another one I'm considering adding to my toolbar (I find that I can't type quickly and accurately in the heat of battle!). Fortunately though, I rarely find myself in a PvEsituation where I am dizzy and also needing to change posture.

I like the Ranged Support specials vs. KD/Dizzy. All great stuff. Thanks.

I use aliases. I don't put any weapons on my F1 toolbar pane, I just use two-key alias macros to equip a weapon. I also have a bleed macro, which eliminates the use for including HS1, BleedingShot, and HS2. They're all in one. I have HS2 as a spammer (single key). I have StoppingShot for when I need it, FanShot for the same, KickUp and RollShot. I never type Kneel or Stand, I always use those. I have a nasty tendancy to become Dizzy without being aware of it when fighting Stormies. I highly encourage you to find room for SupFire. Create little two-key aliases for your foods. Put them on toolbarPane01 (#2) and do an alias like /vb or /va for vassarian brandy, or /tha or /th for thakitilo, or something like that. That's how I maximize my main toolbar slots.

Thanks for the suggestions, Ren, I may try the alias thing. I find that anything that involves me typing when I am in the heat of battle often spells disaster though, because I inevitably hit the wrong key when I am agitated and trying toconcentrate onseveral things at once. Like you, I also have a bleeds macro key, so the only bleed special that I ever need to use separately is HeathShot2.

Do you use Suppression Fire? If so, how? I'm thinking of this scenario. Low Blow gives you a knockdown. Panic Shot right after gives you 10 seconds that they can't stand up. Once they stand up, if you can land a Suppression Fire that would make them kneel. Good tactics for slowing down those NPC's or melee PvP people.

Does this work?

Supression Fire = Pistoleer lunge

It would work yes.

Add this to it to be even more effective:

/fullautosingle to try and get a dizzy while they are KD/delayed, if so

then use /supressionfire because when they try to stand again the go KD

Did you edit your original reply so you could add "HA HA FIRST"?

I'll bet he did! LOL

No, I'm not offending him. I've done it at least twice myself. Percy and I have a kind of friendly competition going on. We try to beat each other to being the first to respond to each thread.

I was posting on GCW.

Ren = SLACKER!

As for Sup Fire, I use it a lot. If I'm fighting Stormies or Mokks, and PMD1 doesn't seem to KD them, I use a quick SupFire/PMD1 combo. For some reason, forcing their posture down and then following up with a KD move seems to increase your chances of KDing.

Alias's? That sounds really awkward.

You mean you type in "a" then hit enter and it does a move?

I found the easiest way is to use Modal Chat and create macros for every special, then bind them to the keyboard.

I have all the pistoleer specials, targetting and healing macros bound to my Num Pad, poisons bound to the Home Keys, state cures bound to QWE, ASD, ZXC and various other bits and pieces dotted about.

My toolbar is full of weapons, spice, food and drink.
