Since when did they remove that from the pistoleer defenses?

We've never had melee damage mitigation. Smugglers have both though.

If i remember correctly we have melee damage defense not mitigation

Not very much...
Pistoleer: 50
Rifleman: 40
If we're supposed to be the close-quarters combat ranged profession, something needs to be done about that.

complain to much though and the devs will make us worse off then we already are.

Unfortunatly it seems like Dev's want people to be a mix of professions rather then making a master profession worth it most of the time. Fortunatly one of the devs posted that ranged weapons were supposed to get some sort of boast eventually do the contiunity...you know I never saw Han or Chewbacca break out a power hammer.

It's not like melee mitigation would help us either, since it only works with melee weapons equiped.

the pistol kd is a melee attackso in a way pistol is both ranged and melee
It's technically a point blank ranged attackthat happens to have amelee-ish animation..

yes, it wouldn't make sense for a smuggler to get melee mitigation in their pistol line if it didn't work when you had a pistol equipped. 
Hope they fix this soon.
