So apparently there are some complaints about Haden Blackman's interviews with IGN and Game Informer.
I'm not trying to start up anything in here (in fact if you feel the need to to so there are existing threads on the subject elsewhere), only to let you know that Haden won't have access to the boards for a couple of days, but he plans on addressing your concerns sometime next week. Not all developers have board posting priviledges all of the time, as you may already know. I also wanted to link them for you in case you were still curious what the fuss was about.

Well, I'll be gone on the 27th, but I think everyone should clearly ask Haden, TH, or any other dev who asks for your input from now on what the point is, since Haden so clearly thinks that the forum posters are not representative of "real" players ...
He quite clearly considers your opinion and mine as irrelevant. I don't even know what TH's job is supposed to be at this point, because clearly we are not the community Haden thinks he is marketing this game to.

The bottom line is our profession is still 80-90% broken in regards to specials, balance, damage types, etc. The devs have felt it worthwhile to put this off indefinitely. There are other professions with similar woes. The devs apparently do not care one bit about fixing the broken and unbalanced game that exists NOW, but would rather push out the expansion to make more money. I can't even begin to imagine how many new problems, bugs, and imbalances JTL will introduce.
I agree, this is one of the worst decisions of it's kind. Mr. CEO I want moremoremoremoremore money, we salute you and hope you rot.

Thanks.
But what does "some" devs having board privaliges have to do with it? I read the Game Informer that SWG linked on their own main site. I'm sorry but Haden was nothing but a politician there. He completely avoided at least 4 questions, by talking about things like how much work the jedi revamp was. Totally a political way to answer questions. Don't answer and try to point out your "good" things.
I have been on SWG forums since beta and played since day one. They did actually promise a combat revamp in as much as they ever promise anything. The original CB was going to be 4 phases, remember? They did phase one already with the mob and creature changes. That is part of the big problem with CH, they got part of the original CB, and thusly nerfed. There was to be a phase for weapons and armor, and a phase for specials costs and the new HAM system.
They quickly realized, just as the players told them so, that doing it in phases is going to screw up things and nerf professions until all of it is done. So then they made an announcment that they are going to work on to launch the entire thing at once. So to avoid the nerfing effect. Very smart on their part, with the exception of CH already being nerfed.
So then they continue to say things about it, and tell us that it's a very important thing and huge, and they are working on it, because so many of us want it. Then they even lay out when in the publish schedule it will go. Publish 12. Well when they first started doing official publishes and calling them that, they told us that they will be doing one a month. Each one adding/fixing something to the game. So, it doesn't take a Master DE to figure out, if July is Publish 9, August publish 10, Sept publish 11, and Oct publish 12 which is the CB. Oh no wait hold up folks, we want to launch JTL in Oct. We can't possibly do that and the CB. Forget it the CB.
Yea they never gave us a date for the CB, but they never give us a date for anything more then a week before. But they did say they will do a publish every month. And they said publish 12 will be the CB.
I will give Haden credit for admitting their mistake of telling us the answer to everything is "wait for the CB". That is the only thing honest and straight forward he said in that interview. The restof it was smoke and mirrors. I started to see that they were probably putting to much into the CB by all those statements. I was calling it the "Holy Grail" of fixes. It was becoming totally unrealistic real fast. And again, at least he admitted that.
And on the statement that everyone is looking forward to the JTLS. Umm only if that's our only choice. Just like statistics, you can skew numbers in polls. If you only ask, "are you lookig forward to JTL, Yes or No". then most of will answer Yes, because the ground game is wacked to heck. But I bet if they asked the question "Which would you rather have happen first. Full CB or JTL" a mojority of the players would have said a full CB and revamp. But they didn't ask that.
It really did piss me off what he said and how he answered on our behalf. He said himself the forums are a small part of the total community, but they also represent a large majority of the opinions. So if that is true, and I see a mojority pissed off about the delay of the CB, and a majority saying they would rather have CB before JTL, then he is mistaken.
Nuff said, I could go and pull apart everything he said in that one interview buy not here.

Well to be blunt Haden is talking out of his arse, the number one thing the community wants is the combat revamp not **edit**ing JTLS.
When those **edit** up there stop answering for us maybe we might get somewhere, until then we're gonna be stuck with our well and truely gimped game just for the sake of their profit's which sickens me.

I know I'm gonna get stoned for this... but I'm one of those folks that would rather play JTL beforeplaying a combat revampedSWG. It's mostly a personal preference thing though, as I prefer 'twitchy' space sims to RPG type combat, and I actually looked more forward to JTL than the game's initial release.
Either way, I really hope they can at least get our specials fixed between now and JTL's launch. I mean, it really can't be that hard to tweak a few of the damage/accuracy/speed numbers to improve attacks.
After all this time, I'd say we've had it coming, particularly with this last delay. I'm hoping that their plans to implement the revamp in a series of patches includes an update(s) fixing specials and/or adding some skill mods to balance out professions until they can put in the complete revamp.

Naw. Atleast not by me. I like twitch better to. Besides I am out of content and would love to do something new that might actually be fun. I wish they would have fixed pistoleerspecials and other profs first atleast. But for some reason this seems to be something that isn't even a big deal to them. I find that odd really. I am a Master Smuggler as well and I would say pistoleer is more borked then smuggler as far as specials go but can see there want for a revamp because well smugglers in SWG don't seem to be smuggling a whole lot atm. The revamp would have gotten us in the right direction and we could actually start getting a decent GCW going hopefully. But that doesn't seem to fit into any priority atm either. What did, Jedi and JTLS. Well out of the 2 I would rather beat someones *edit* with my twitch skills then have no chance at all against something so unbalacing as the latter.

glad to see the pistoleers are taking it batter than wee smugglers are. Smugglers are ready to riot after he basicly said that they have never mislead us or promised us a revamp.
