Thread: Question to Pro Pistoleers
1. is my template and I can kill just about anything PVE. I Have great defenses and meditation is a godsend for healing wounds and poison and such. I have 0040 medic so I can heal for over a 1000 a pop with good stim Ds (bio engineered shirt helps) and scout 1000 so I can at least move somewhat quicker over hills chasing down prey.
I find I use TK more often because it is so much powerful in PVE, but I have a good range of krayt weapons and I am fairly powerful as a pistoleer when I feel like a change.
All I do is intimidate, spam flamesingle2, and heal occasionally. I wear 80% kenetic comp, nothing special since krayt's tear it up so quick. The burn ticks for 3000-4500 damage so it's only a matter of time. (my flamer is 640/1160 5.1 speed)I timed it last night andit took about a half hour to take down a giant. My template gives +95 melee defense (with a couple CA's, 89 without IIRC)and pistoleer gives good defense against kd and dizzy (good for the giants). Have you tried to solo one since they fixed the armor hole??
I should probably shut up before the graveyard is full of commando's. Sorry for taking this thread a bit off-topic.

Bah, I can't edit yet. I was just messing around with a character builder and swapping rifles 0004 for tka 0004 will bring my melee defense up to +109 without any CA's and will also add some more ranged defense. So I guess I will grind out novice TK tonight.

I love pistols, even though it's a bugged prof ... been using them since launch and will never stop
TKA is great. You can only meditate wounds away at master, but you can force of will and powerboost before that, along with the great attacks and defenses
As a smuggler, you can only slice the terminals at opposing factional bases once you have slicing 1, so i do. It also helps in pve for slicing the terminals to get higher payouts. The dirty fighting line adds very nicely to my pistol specials ... i find i lowblow and panic shot quite often in pvp. Smuggler is a very obvious choice for using pistols and unarmed, and i love it.
Having pharmacology 4 is great so i can use StimD's and heal for over 1000 a pop ... i got the other boxes to be able to drag incapacitated group members and use first aid, which i do often. They also speed up the time delay between heals.
That one box of marksman that takes the combat xp i kept in order to keep the /aim ability, which works wonders in pve

That is a good template Duedroth, I might go with that or something simmilar with novice scout and exploration 1.
Only thing I don't like about your template is that I prefer to use my own stims. I would have to buy at least 3 crates of stim Ds to feel comfortable with not being able to craft my own.
I have a template very similar to #2 and I'm loving it. Here's my template:
Master Marksman / Master Pistoleer / Commando 0040 / Smuggler 0040 / Rifleman 0004 / Medic 0200
With a geo pistol I do pretty good in pvp, with a launcher pistol I can take out turrets, and with a flamer I can solo krayt's. I might drop rifles and do the meditate tree of TKA, but the extra melee defense is nice.
