Scatter - not worth just getting Novice BH for the Cert - unless you are going to get some of the BH Pistol boxes for Speed and Accuaracy.... and the specials. Scatter IMO does not beat the DX2 which does the same type of damage (acid) and is also AP1. Main advantage I can think of with the Scatter is its easy to Enhance with Krayt Tissues as you only need 1 tissue.
Launcher Pistol - this is amore worthwhile certas it gives you Blast Damage which no other Pistol does, nice against AT-STs and NS Stalkers etc.
Since you have to Master Marksmanand 1 tree of either Brawler or Scout to get either, to make it worth the SP I'd get BH Pistols 4, then you will be speed capped and have Eye shot and Torso Shot, both very useful PVP specials - and Torso is very useful in PVE as well especially against MOBs with AR2 and AR3.
Nope DX2 takes 4 Power Handers not 1 - which means you need 5 Krayt Tissues to enhance one, thats why I said the only real advantage of the scatter is its easier to get hold of a decent enhanced one as you only need 1 tissue to enhance it.

The launcher pistol is good against mobs and objects (such as turrets) that are vulnerable to blast damage. It's an AP0 weapon, which means using it against anything with armor protection (or which isn't vulnerable) is futile.
All your certifications from Marksman (cdef, d18, dl44, scout, power5, tangle, FWG5, SR Combat) are still usable by a Master Pistoleer. The Geonosian Sonic Blaster is certified with Pistol Techniques 2. If you're a Master Pistoleer, you can use the Geonosian Blaster. At Master Pistoleer you're able to use the DE10. And at Novice Pistoleer you gain not only the DX2, but also the Republic Blaster (and Modified Republic Blaster, which causes a nice bleeding DoT).

Fascinating. In theory, then, shouldn't the DX2 be able to outperform both the Scatter and DE10 if properly enhanced? If I'm not mistaken, the DE10 takes 2 handlers now (used to be 4).
The thing is you only get the Damage increase from the stats on the Power Handler x1 not x the number of Power Handlers you use. So if you used 100+ Damage Tissuesto make the 4 powers handlers for a DX2 you would only get a 100+ damage increase not 400+.
Imagine what Krayt Enhanced T21's would be like if this wasn't the case? They take 10 Power Handlers ![]()
