New fan shot is working for me. I just gunned down a whole bunch of desert demon marksmen. Wee.

whoa so it wasnt just me, thought I was going crazy when I owned two ragtags at once with fan shot

Took out a group of 4 maulers (Well 2 "Maulers and some of his henchmen), with a flurry of Fan Shots. Works good. Just don't use it on Dath in a crowd

Yeah works really good, if you don't mind not having control over what you hit. I had several times last night where I was aiming at a mob up the hill, yet the stupid shot decided to attack something DOWN the hill. Decided that it would rather shoot at anything other than what I had targeted. This is stupid, you don't have control whatsoever over what you hit. Was fighting Pubams on Endor, wound up fighting a jax, not because I targeted the wrong mob, but because the stupid shot decided that was a better target than the pubam I had on target.

So how is this working now? Is it a cone effect? Or a spread horizontal effect?

Read the description fan shot might "work" but it isn't working as the description says.

I like this change.


Seems Fan shot has been changed to a cone AoE attack, so for those reporting that they aint hitting more then one mob while using it needs to reposition themself so that the mobs are closer together or form a vertical line in front of you.

Wow, you mean they changed it, even though no one wanted or asked for this change, and even after every communication we gave them after we saw the suggestion said "don't change fan shot"?
lol.


As to knockdown lasting forever, the smuggler correspondent I saw personally tested that and posted it probably a week ago, and they still released it broken? Good grief.


I'll go check some of it out, see what I can fnd out.

Fan shot WAS the only good shot I had. Now I can't use it becuase it just decides to hit every mob I'm not trying to attack. Now you can only use pistoleer's most powerfull shot(stopping shot has a delay on it)when you WANT to shoot at everything if front of you (attacking you or not) or the mob your attacking is alone with no other mobs around it. Honestly I can only use my best shot now about less than half the time because it will just get me killed. Thanks SOE for making pistoleer even more screwed up that it already was!

This post is hilarious because it sounds like a post from the carbineer forums. The cone/AoE specials appear to work different for different people and even work differently each time you try them - the code is seriously borked. This carbineer has been begging the Devs to stop adding cone specials to our skills and remove them and now they are borking up pistoleer by adding them.


I am just a carbineer stopping by to see how much this patch ruined this class...carbineers got more screwed...as usual.

Fan shot as it is now, being a cone AoE attack, is a very powerful special if used correctly in certain situations. It still does the same damage,the action cost is a little bit more, but not very noticeable. Being able to attack multiple mobs or players at the same speed and damage as fan shot was pre-patch can be very interesting to say the least.


I wasn't expecting this change, but I think it's great news for us that they've started making our specials a bit more "special" and not just another one of those random HAM attack.


What isn't that great is that they changed the special we use the most without giving us any other attack for single mobs. If they were to fix bodyshot 3 or stopping shot then I don't think that many people would be complaining, but im sure these fixes are on their way as well.So in the meanwhile we will just have to play a bit smarter and be a bit more careful,which isn't that bad really and makes things a littlebit moreinteresting in my opinion. Just practice with this new fan shot a bit and you will know exactly what you are going to hit and you'll see it's true potential.

I kind of like taking out a group of Desert Demons in 3 shots, but if they're going to make fan shot what it is now, they need to give us a high power single target shot that doesn't have the high delay that stopping shot has.


Anybody noticed changes with any of our other specials?

Sounds like sony took the code from Grauls and pasted it onto fanshot.
