Greeting, my name is Manifest, Master Weaponsmith (starsider)
I am looking to make a Krayt Geo-pistol in the next couple days but would like somePistoleer input.
My standard geo-pistol with base yellow cubes comes to 220 max (unsliced), with something over 800 condition [haven't made one of these since I became a 12-point force crafter]
with the tissues I have I can get very close to a 300 point build. If I used the cubes I was thinking of I could grab another 15 points over this. The extra experiment points would increase the condition a nice amount, especially since I get an amazing sucess on my condition "roll" more often than not, due to my Force-Crafting skills. However since these have low condition in general I am thinking I should forgoe the yellow cubes and extra damage and use some of my +500 condition green cubes to vastly increase the longevity of the build.
So my question to you is....would you prefer the extra damage on such a weapon...or becasue of the power inherent in the krayt (and the expense) would you rather have it last a very long time.
any input would would be greatly appreciated

Well, credits/cost don't bother me, so if need be, I can buy another one when this one fails. Which means I'd go for all out damage. Too bad you're not a Bloodfin WS, or I'd make you an offer right now. My last Krayt geo died and I am in the process of finding a replacement.

A Pistol like that would be very expensive, on my server, so I'd rather have the longevity. Without the damage cubes, you're still looking at 300 max w/o a slice, and a 30% dmg slice can push that darned close to 400 max! If I got that 400 max, a few extra points (15?) of damage wouldn't be anywhere as worthwhile to me as 500(!!) extra condition. I'd go with condition.

From a sales point of veiw going for damage over condition would be in your best intrest. No matter which you choose, the gun WILL sell, but the sonner it fails, then sooner you can sell a new one.

definitely go with the dmg. i got a 306 max geo for 3 mil and got it sliced up to 406 dmg...no one asks what's the condition when i tell them i have a 406 dmg geo

But isn't the original poster saying he's getting 300 max from the tissues without the cubes? I thought he was asking whether or not to get the +15 damage from yellow cubes, or the +500 condition from the red (?) cubes.

Any master pistoleer can verify this I think...
We want max damage, against melee prof's in PVP.
We wouldn't use it otherwise, plus as stated above when it runs out, we will buy another one from
the same source.

Up to the person making the weapon, I suppose. Personally, I don't see how 15 points of damage could be worth 500 condition. Oh well. To each his own.

15 points of damage isn't worth it unless you can add it to the min damage imo
