Stopping shot is working nicely for me when I go up against Jedi but it seems to take forever for me to be able to use it a second time. Is there are way to make it regen faster? Foods perhaps? When I fight I am mostly using rifles if that helps you any, my template is Master BH, Master Rifles and Pistoleer 0404.

Thanks

I'm not 100% sure but I think Stopping Shot has a flat timer on it, for me anyway it seems to be 48 seconds.

I use this macro to give an auadable alert and system message for when I can use it again.

/stoppingShot;
/pause 48
/alarmAddIn 0 0 Stopping Shot Ready!

It seems to be a lot longer than 48 seconds for me, perhaps I need to time it but it feels like more than 2 minutes to me when I am playing and looking at the timer.

Does it make any difference if I am using a rifle when I apply the root or should I be doing it with a pistol to get a faster "regen" on it?

Thanks for your reply

The way to test it is turn on timestamps and find a friendly player to duel and just stand there while you hit stopping shot twice, then wait till it fires again and check the combat log and compare the times.

If you cant find a helpful player just find some low level mob to do this on.

It has a cooldown. You can'tmake the cooldown cool down faster. It's a cooldown. Doesn't matter which gun you use. It has the same cooldown. Cooldowns are not based on weapon speed, it's part of the special move itself. You just have to wait for the cooldown to cool down.

Apparently Pistoleers are going to have to learn the same things the Druids in WoW did when it comes to rooting. Stopping Shot is not your game breaker. Play like you don't have it, but use it when you need it. It's supposed to have a high cooldown so that people aren't perma-rooted the whole fight. Don't you think that would be kinda lame if you could just shoot at your target with impunity all the time?

i think advanced stopping shot cools down faster than improved stopping shot though as well as making it stick a bit longer

/shrug not sure though

Exactly right...it would be rather broken if we could keep people perma rooted...I suspect we will be seeing changes because if you have 3-4 pistoleers you can keep someone permarooted...not exactly fun for those on the receiving end especially since there is no "counter"

Could you campaign for it to be a no-stack skill, or have a target specific cool down to prevent this kind of permarooting? It strikes me that the skill works well for a single pistoleer, so we need to make it so only a single pitoleer can apply it to a target.

KD was supposed to be on a 30 second timer pre-CU, so that TKMs couldn't keep someone KD/Dizzy the whole fight. Personally, I never saw it work on me, but something like that thatactually works would be very balancing. It's a crowd control measure, not an I Win button, so if each player was on a 1 minute(or even 90-120 sec) root timer, then they could only be rooted once every minute. But since roots has a 48 sec cooldown, you could use it on the first target to take him out of the fight, wait 48 seconds and then root the next and take him out of the fight. That's strategy, not exploiting.

When you use stopping shot, you can see the cool down timer ticking on the button. The button on your toolbar goes gray and has a clock ticking hand that goes around slowly and when it goes full circle, you can use it again. Same for all skills.

I can't agree with your "shoot at your target with impunity" statement... just get a laser rifle and shoot back...athought i agree it is NOT that effective for a meleer...

It's the meleers that are crying nerf for Stopping Shot, not the Riflemen.

Why there are all-meleers with no ranged profs at all in a Star Wars game, I'll never figure out. -=shrug=-

certain Voritors have ranged attacks just like Quenkers. Always have I think or for quite some time.
