I'd just like to say thank you.... I don't deserve this great honour but I am happy to take it.
I finally made Master Pistoleer today.. after a long hard grind....... wheeeewwwww.....

I have a question. Is it worth keeping the general combat tree in Marksman the 0/4/0/"4" <= ?????
I notice you get the same defence skills in pistoleer and smuggler pistol tree.
Should I just surrender that one marksman tree???
Thanks,

the best thing about the ranged suppoert line is suppresion fire, a ranged posture down. As a pistoleer you don't get a ranged KD so this is pretty much the only way to "set up" a big hit w/o standing on top of your target. Also great for nailin runners in PvP, especially dizzy runners
threaten/warning/scary shot , pretty much useless. There is a little bug in warning shot where if have multiple applications stick the MOB you used it on starts to move in slow motion. 3 applications is about right, but it varries, and an extra application breaks it. So if your patient itcan be a great kiting tool for PvE.
I guess it depends on the rest of your template, you mention smugler. If you are getting the DF line then forget ranged support. Low blow is a much better shot than suppresion fire

I agree about Suppression Fire. Definitely the best part of the Ranged Support tree.
I don't agree that Threaten Shot and Warning Shot are useless. One of them (I can never remember which is which) makes your enemy retreat for a while before coming back to attack again. I find it useful in PvE to send an enemy running, then use Suppression Fire or Low Blow (as I'm a Smuggler). I don't use it very often at all, but it can certainly be of some use. The other one is only useful if you hit your enemy (Melee PvE enemies are where it's most useful) before they get close, then they'll just run in circles for a few seconds. That should give you enough time to throw a big attack, or use Suppression Fire or Low Blow.
I think they're more useful than you give them credit for. Not useful in every fight, but not totally useless. That's my opinion anyway

I personally have to have it with Bounty Hunter, but I love the extra pistol speed and accuracy.

Really? Well now. I've never used threaten/warning in PvP so I had no idea ( except on pets). I always thought it was a PvE only thing. That is kinda interesting. Might have to drop my scout and pick up RS just to play with that for a while.

Wouldn't it be cool if they did though?have people running away from you screaming. It would be great

Yeah, it would be even cooler if they affected not only the toon, but the live person at the other end of the computer.

Good Point. That would be better.

Y'know... that wouldn't be too hard to accomplish, to a degree anyway.
The one (again, I can never remember which does what) that makes the enemy run in circles for a bit could be accomplished by having the players controls go all wonky. So when they try to run forwards they run right, or they try to strafe right and they go left, etc. It would only last a few seconds, and maybe be broken when they get hit again (like how Panic Shot works for Smugglers) resetting their controls to normal working mode.
As for the other skill, I'm not sure if that could be accomplished in PvP. Sure they could set it up so it forces the enemy player to run away from you, but I imagine there would be a bit of outrage if players were to lose control of their character completely. Plus I'm sure some jerk would find a way to grief using it.

I think you mis-read my post somewhere. Threaten Shot and Warning Shot don't do anything at all in PvP; they're PvE only.
