As a pistoleer, and this added bonus isgoing to gimp all the ranged professions, we are going to get smacked around even more.

Low damage, short range pistol skills are going to put us in the killing zone. So get the smelling salts out cause we gonna get knocked the f*ck out.

Best regards,

Where have you been man, blasters have no place in starwars, only swords and pikes vibro knuckles. Unless you believe the movies , the books and any expanded universe information of which I bet not even one of the devs is even remotely informed about. They most likely are still trying to figure out how to introduce Klingons.

Can I re-roll as a Klingon? Is that the old version or the new version. The new version would be much cooler. Hey can we get phasers too? That would be cool A phaser pistol that can do stun damage and also vaporize stuff. Sweet!

Yeah, it's funny that the most powerful toons in the game are these melee classes, which you don't even see in any of the movies.

This isn't a movie. The movies of which you speak focused on a few main charchters roles in galactic events, not every little nook and cranny idea that ever came out of the SW universe. This game focuses onJoe Schmoe SWG citizen.Don't like it? Quit paying.

Joe Schmoe citizen is an unemployed and bitter Droid Engineer who lives in fear of being long-range-poisoned by combat medics with swords?

Boy, I missed that on the box. Face it, SOE is so far off-target for the customer they were aiming at, it's like they're playing pin-the-tail-on-the-Brackaset. All the customers want to do is help remove their blindfold ... is that so wrong?

Very true but it would be nice if there were a little consistancy with what the movies were about, at this time frame. Hell if this what starwars would really be like then forget jedi , I would just hucksome of those mondo-super desease packs on oh Darth vader and wait for him to die. Stronge he is with the force, but not that strong. A TKM could keep him on his back for , well ever.

The game is supposed to let you sell shirts if thats what you want , but it also promised that you could take part in the Galactic Civil War to what ever extent you choose. The game dosent need to be just like the movies, but it dosent need to forget that they were responsable for this game.Plain and simple if the movies were not made this game would not have beeneither. The game at least needs to give the feel of the movies from time to time. Blasters say starwars to me more than a pike does, but thats just me.

No, its not a movie. However,it is based wholly on a series of them, and I saw hardly any melee fighters in the movies, if any at all. Melee classes definitely have their place in SWG, but us ranged folk should not be so gimped as to have the melee classes us constantly owning us. On my server, it seems everybody who is really into PvP these days has at leastsome TKA. In a futuristic(or, long time ago-istic)game such as this, I think ranged should be the dominant class, with melee to supplement it. I'm not necessarily saying a Pistoleer should own a TKM all day any day, but we should be on somewhat level ground, if not slightly better...

Anyone have any actual proof that such a modifier is going to be put in?

I mean this is what rifleman had before and it got removed. Somehow adding this to pistoleer would seem entirely assanine to me. So please post a link to your proof that a 2.5x melee modifier is going to happen.

I didn't see squat on devtracker about such a thing.

Closest thing I've seen is the improved chance to hit a ranged attacker as a melee prof.. I've seen absolutely nothing about a damage mod.

Me neither. I've been trying to find out if the to-hit bonus even applies to us, since it was supposed to replace the melee damage mutliplier (something we have never been subject to). If it is applied to us, this would be a massive buff for carbineers & rifleman, and a "nerf" for us. No response yet.
