Pistoleer Archive
Thread: If you think about it, Pistoleer isn't THAT bad.
After having mastered it I have to say I love it. If they would fix the broken specials it'd be even better. (I don't get how a game this far along can still have broken specials. It kind of boggles the mind actually especially since they know the problems exist)
I just gave up Master CH but I refuse to give up Pistoleer, I love my pistols too much.

Take some time and try out some of the other combat proffs and get back to us. We lack finesse, power, speed, and a role in the grand scheme of things. I ground thru almost every combat proff in my holo quest and I can say hands down we ARE that bad.
Of course we have been that bad since they took away our AOE KD and gave us nothing in return. Once upon a time we were the kings of crowd control. Remeber that next time you think we are OK.

I dunno.. I have a preconcieved notion that
2) our skill mods should be fair
3) the speed equation shouldn't leave us in the dust, leaving riflemen with approximately 4x our damage output. If he picks up Master Marksman, that jumps up to 7x our damage output. Unfortunately, since we have less speed to start off with, picking up Master Marksman provides only a minimal benefit (noticable, but not enough to turn the tide of a battle). Having an exponential speed formula was a bad idea. I only point out riflemen because they are the most similar to us, yet the most drastic example.
I didn’t think the profession was too bad off till last night. My brother and I went out to kill some War Gronda on Corellia. He’s a doc/rifleman(0,0,0,1) and I’m a pistoleer(1,2,0,2). Normally buffed and armored I get 3700xp from a War Gronda kill. With my rifleman brother attacking. This is what I got.
Brother using normal attack: I’d get 900xp.
Brother using mindshot 2 (he’d kill it for mind damage): I’d get 200xp.
Brother using overcharge: I’d get 500xp.
I was spamming bodyshot 2 the whole time so he could heal me for the medic xp.
Comparing the worst marksmen profession to the best shows the unbalance. A small group with a riflemen and a pistoleer, both doing what they do best sniper and tank, only rewards the riflemen in pve.![]()
If you compare a Master Rifleman to a Master Pistoleer, you'll see what the difference is.
And if you were a Pistoleer, you would be quite upset at the big difference.
