Thread: Master Smuggler or MBH?

I would like advice some you veteran Pistoleers. Which is a better compliment to Master Pistoleer...MS or MBH?


I am returning to SWG after taking a year off. I was a Master Pistoleer then, with most of the rest of my points in CH. Now you see why I absolutely MUST respec.

MBH is:

Playstyle. With Smuggler, you gain a number of additional crowd control moves allowing you to really juggle your opponents.


With MBH, you'll get more offense, but above all, more defense. With duelist stance running, I hit somewhere above 400 in both defenses. It all depends on which one you believe you'd have more fun with


(... though I warmly recommend MP/MBH + one branch of CM for a well rounded template...)

You can get 400 ranged D with M Smuggler|M Pistoleer you just have to keep your pistol in the toolbar, unequip a sec, and CoB. So it's more tricky and still doable.

BH does (over m.pistols)


+85 melee defense
+95 ranged defense
+35 general ranged speed
+55 general ranged accuracy



+better burst run, mask scent and good terrain negotiation, running bh missions, great set of moves, arguably the better set of pistols(over smuggler ones), allows you to wear both recon(obviously with m.pistols) and assault armor


Smuggler does (over m.pistols)


+50 melee defense
+45 ranged defense
+25 general ranged speed
+45 general ranged accuracy


+You're a smuggler. Cool way to make money and make some weapons slightly better, great pistol moves

I wouldn't know as I do not have both. I did think about picking up TKA x1xx before since I am already required to have so much in Brawler. That would grant improved CoB which replaces CoB and buffs you plus 500 D. M Pistoleer|M Smuggler with improved CoB up would have 650 ranged|melee D. With Pistol back in hand that would be 700. It would be kind of funny though I could carry around a sith sword in addition to a pistol and blaster knuckles.


Honestly I'd probably opt for M Pistols|M Smuggler and CM 4xxx if I wanted toplaySmuggler. With Stim D and CM 4xxx you can pop off 2600 pnts of total healing fast. Also thebasic bacta heal canbe used whilemoving. If you want frontloaded damage BH is the way to go.


Accuracy shouldn't be an issue with either template as you can use Deuterium Pyro(Plus 175 ranged accuracy) to boost that.



If you really want to freak people out with healing, group with a friend that has Doc 4xxx and factor in her skill with your CM 4xxx stim D and these:


Ruby Bliel: Stimpack Roundtime : 30s fill 22 19min12s


Vasarian Brandy: +410 Health Regeneration +200 Action Regen +50 Mind Regen fill50 7min48s


And if she has Doc xxx4 even better for speed enhance plus youare using the Deuterium Pyro right?


I have Dancer because my character is a RP toon.

I say smuggler. Its rarer and more fun imo.

the root is nice, but with Underhand shot, disarming shot, and the pistoleer root, you can generally keep your opponent down and out. that and the terrain negotiation does boost your run speed, so you can kite pretty well.


over all, I think MBH has better defensive stats over Smuggler.


so it comes down to how you want to make your money, really. do you want to hunt jedi, or slice weapons/ sell spices?

Ya, MBH does have much better defense. Slicing is supposedly profitable, I used to be a mastersmuggler with some pistoleer before the smuggler patch. I would say the best perk of being a smuggler was the slicing, but it wasn't even that great. I would definitelysay MBH has better mods, but sometimes you just like the title smuggler...
