not sure if this has been asked yet or not, so ill ask anyway...
why is every other prof certed for battle armor, when all we get is recon armor? anyone have any ideas? from what i understand, recon armor is like the current ubese.
if anyone can shed some light on the subject, i'd appreciate it
thnx

I think it's because ranged professions aren't the one tanking, so they get armor that isn't as...protective as the ones out front taking the hits. I could be wrong though.

Keep in mind that this is a newarmor system, and really can't be compared with old armor such as ubese. If you want to compare Recon Armor VS. Battle Armor then here's what it comes out as:
Comparing this, Recon armor has better protection against energy where battle armor is just at a flat no modifiers to energy. However,Battle has no modifiers to kinetic as well, where Recon has a slight penalty to kinetic.
This falls into the strategy catagory, put on the armor that is best suited to what you're up against. There is no "Best Armor" anymore. It's all a game of strategy and put on the armor that best suits your situation.

Keep in mind that not all proffesions will be certified for all types of armor, however... (at least that is my understanding) and I haven't seen a know-all list that tells who gets what.

Combat Medic now requires the pistol line in marksman...
In that profession, you pick up battle armor...
And at MCM (Or so I read), we get the rebel alliance pistol...
The only way I see this sticking is the range for CM's is under 35 m... Because having pistols maxed out at 35 m almost cuts our range now in half... No point in being able to toss poisons 50 m and have to run 15 m closer to shoot a pistol.

well i've seen the thread on the pistoleer tree and theres no battle armor on it anywhere. if we are the ragned profession that has to get "up close and personal" and we are certianly likely to see alot of meleers come our way (b4 carbineers/rifelmen at least) i think WE should get the battle armor that protects evenly and the longer ranged ones (who are less likely to encoutner a meleer), get the negative bonus to kinetic.
just my 2 cents

no need to get up close and personal with those melee guys. Kite 'em and blast 'em.

I just wish that the Rebel recon armor didn't make me feel like I should be on Will & Grace.

A bit off subject kinda, but does anyone know what padded will be classified as, cause I love it, and have a ton of suits, but if it is battle armor, I am screwed, since MC/MP is recon and assult armor certs.
Plus I like the rebel battle armor the best although the assult aint to shabby.
