Thread: 155 action points for pistol whip!
I'm a Master Doctor, had a bad buff, buffed my quickness to about 1100 points, and it STILL cost 52 HAM.
I didn't notice it took away from mind, so as soon as I realized, my mind was already down halfway thru a fight.
I really really wub this.
Even better! My surgical droid I rely on very heavily so I can use buffs without them being bugged AKA wearing off and not being able to reapply them for hours, has permadeath now! 18k DOWN THE TUBES!!! YEEEEEE HAW!

Oh, btw....they say to use Suppression Fire and Warning Shot, but what of those who don't have any points for the Support Abilities Tree? What about us who don't have any delay turn moves and are still grinding out the points towards Master Pistoleer? It'll be a long and tough road for me....a really **edit**ed up road too
Maybe I've got this all wrong, but isn't the purpose of a specialized profession to do more damage with that chosen weapon using just normal attacks. I can understand if the normal attacks do lousy damage and so do the specials, but at an enormous HAM cost. But so far I've found out that if an attack is more devestating, or capable of putting an enemy down in one or two hits, then it usually shouldn't be spammed, nor do I believe it's intended to be spammed. I'm not saying there's definitely not something wrong, i.e. a bug or some game mechanics being decided poorly. I'm also not sure the methods of the persons discussing this issue. Perhaps the persons talking about this have not once spammed any combat commands EVER. I'm not trying to accuse anyone or everyone, just saying that maybe the reason these special attacks cost so much action, health, mind or whatever is just so they won't be routinely overused.
Well, with a FWG5 with 35 action cost, Pistol Whip costs me 128 (the number that flies up above my head)
Now get this, I equip a Scout Blaster with 23 action cost and Pistol Whip costs me 145!
There's some funky math going on here methinks..
The only benefit I see to this is a more balanced PvP but now hunting on dathomir or dantooine will be incredibly difficult.
I have tested PW after the patch and I find the HAM cost is not prohibitive. I can still use it to save my life or the life of a groupmate as necessary. I cannot rely on it to solo mobs harder than I could before, but that deserved nerfing.

Hunting on Dathomir or Dantooine is supposed to be incredibly difficult. Personally I'm glad that I can no longer spam one special and kill nearly anything in the game.
The new cost does seem high but it was probably needed. My only concern is that it's 5 times the Mind pool that it used to suck up. Since you can't heal those I find myself running out of mind very very fast. But I guess that was the point. Fan shot seems to be doing more damage after the patch though ![]()

Nerfing the ham costs of KD was not the right fix. They could have made it do no damage which along with working defensive values would have been a effective fix to spamming as it would cost ham and often do no damage or have no effect. Another one is a timer(which i think is less effective) would have been better than this.
