the max dmg is a bit lower than the republic - but the min is higher.

lower ham cost too.

plus it looks a lot cooler.

any drawback to the SR?

Are pistoleers even certified for them? Either way I haven't seen one for sale on wanderhome for weeks and weeks.

We are certified for them. The reason the RB has basically rendered the SR obsolete is mostly due to speed. The SR's are way too slow. I also think that crafting Krayt models is difficult (not sure on this one), so finding a really good SR is a crapshoot, where as a really good RB is a dime a dozen.

So I guess they nerfed sigs too?

the mind cost is much better when your buffed and it's still AR1.

i have a dmg one that is 96-188 with a spd of 3.1

Must be a server thing. On Radiant I have never seen an SR break the 3.0 speed barrier, unless sliced and powered up. Not to say that it doesn't happen though. However most of the RB's I see are at worst 2.5 and 2.2 seems to be the average. At master 2.2 ain't nothing bad.

My new and improved DX2 is 2.4 and roughly 130 - 270 with a power up. HAM costs are easily mitigated with food.

I do carry a SR combat sliced for damage; I'd be more inclined to use that in PvP then a Republic (due to mitigation) but at 3.1 speed it is just too slow. With the improved accuracy stats and a few accuracy skill tapes my DX2 is still my weapon of choice.

A Krayt SR would be very interesting, if it is possible...

I keep an FWG5 around (now a new featherweight model), but it gets used maybe twice a month. I carry apowered upTangle sliced for damage, but at 3.0+ speed it still sucks. Also carry a Striker for those darn Night Sister **edit**...

The range on a SR is 48m I believe (it's not 64m for sure), RB, FWG, etc, are all 64m.

'cause it sucks would be the short answer...for a more detailed reply -

limited range

slow

never seen one with good damage (not saying it can't be done, but they must be rare)

Well I tried a SR back before they "fixed" the RB. It was OK, and about the only energy we had, but not awesome. I stuck with my FWG5, since it did so much more damage, and better speed. At the time I was not that far up in pistoleer, so speed was a concern.

Now I use the RB all the time nearly. The AP is the biggest difference now compared to the SR. In pvp I use the RB that is speed sliced to 2.8, and use dmg powerups on it. It totally rocks.

The DX2? Man, kind of slow for the damage IMO. I had one long ago that was fast as hell at 1.9 I think, with pretty good damage. I use it only when something is high heat and energy resistant. Its slower and less damage then my RB though.

It's silly to compare the DX2 vs either the SR or RB. They are different damage types entirely. one does acid, the other 2 energy. Arguments along these lines only work out when talking about things with 0 resists. And in that event neither of 3 come close to what you should be using for those particualr situations.

The fact is the SR and RB are damn near the same guns. Just one of them has better overall stats. Bothdo energy dmg, both have armor piercing. Bothhave horrible accuracy. But the RB tends to have better dmg/spd.

MAX RANGE!

SR Combat Pistols have a max range of 48m in most cases. The republic blaster is 64m, is more accurate, is faster, and HAM costs are less. The RB Owns the SR combat even though the SR combat pistol with a scope and barrel looks way way better than that ugly RB.

Sadly a Krayt SR isn't possible. Krayt tissue is used to enhance Blaster PowerHandlers and not all weapons require them.

You could however make a GORAX SHARD SR COMBAT or EVEN Better a GORAX SHARD Featherweight FWG5. The shards are comparable totissues but I don't think they ever break over 100's like some Krayt Tissue does.

The Shards are used to enhance the Projectile Feed Mechanisms. The really sad part is that GORAX are impossible to find almost . If anyone knows of a static area in which they normally spawn up I will pay you 1 million credits on Kettemoore after I confirm.
