How do you plan to get Smuggler 0040 with Brawler 0200, Smuggler requires brawler 4000 at least.

I have enjoyed reading all the "pistoleer" advocates. It is nice to see that some folks actually choose a profession! The smuggler nerfs and other proposed changes make me wonder if we are not the lost tribe of SWG.

That said (in support of our profession), I am sticking with Pistoleer. I just made Master and my overall goal will be Master Pistoleer, Master Fencer (yes, I know about the dodge nerf), Smuggler dirty fighting through 4, TKA 0-2-0-0, and Medic 1-0-0-0. I have bought some excellent bio clothes and have skill attachments for my armor, so I should be between +85 - +125 on all def's by the time I am done leveling. If the nerf cap is truly at +125 as rumored, I should be very close to that in all the key def mods.

I am doing better and better against NPC's and monsters, but in PvP... I simply suck. What usually happens is I get surprised after a TEF. With Master Pistoleer, a sniper cant automatically kill me (thank God those days are less freq), but I am just not getting the job done when I try to respond. Players that I should easilt be killing, I am not. Folks, I want to kill!

Does anyone have a few PROVEN macro's for pistoleer PvP? Any help would be appreciated.

With kind regards,

i would recomend doing novice BH and going up the BH pistol tree. I am a Master Bh and i noticed a lot of master pistoleers have novice BH and 1-4 so you can use the scatter. That is one mean pistol and a krayt one is nasty. Just somehting to think about.......Ranther than smuggler..

Pick up a good geon sonic blaster, you will doing good in p vs. p.

I haven't try geon. blaster with last ditch before, but it should be very good.

I seen Geon Sonic Blaster with over 300 Max damage with powerup. It is already better than some of the carbine

Thanks for all the feedback. What I am looking for, though, is macro's. Meaning, would you start off with a knockdown followed by three stopping, a couple of fans and a last ditch? How effective is then disarming and multitarget shots? Should they be in the macro? Thanks.

And again, I am looking for macros proven via battle history.

Thanks!

I've had a lot of luck with my alt (TKM/Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler) using /lowblow, /panicshot, then spamming /lastditch. If they aren't dead by the time i get up close, an /unarmedhit3 or two always finishes them off. I've made a macro that uses this series, but since none of the shots have a 100% success rate, sometimes they don't KD, which spoils the effectiveness of the combo. i just have them all individually hot-keyed, and it works great. Hope that helps.

well depending on you starter distance.

i'm master pistoleer TKM, now but i was M-pistoleer, TKM, master smuggler.

and i was also MBH + pistoleer (whitch is BY far best offence ever!)

as Pistoleer/tk/smuggler

/lowblow /panic /stoppingshot /stoppingshot /stoppingshot /lastditch

do last ditch as a finishing touch. usualy takes them out by the time they try to get up from KD

as pistoleer/ BH pistol 4

/eyeshot /stoppingshot /stoppingshot /stoppingshot

hehe with BH pistol 4 u'r soooooo fast, that you'll just be spitting out stopping shots like a gattling gun

with the aid of a nice scatter pistol (AP1 acid dmg) there is not much that can stand in your way.

again at this moment i'm trying to find my silent prof, so i keep TKM as anti-melee (keep in mind i'm always master pistoleer best prof ever IMHO)

but as soon as i'm done with this holo thing, i'm running straight back to Mpistoleer+BH 0-0-4-0

have not desided if i should go BH carbine or investigation 3........after doing MBH i can never look on the terms again, BUT since the next patch would fix the droids....i dont know.....

yours

as every opponent is different, you cannot set ONE attack combo for EVERY opponent.

I think why you "su(k" in PvP is cause you don't "think PvP" or you think it's not as complex as it actually is.

if you think you can win with a macro, then let me say that you're wrong.

there's no way to "make" an "I win" button and drag it in your tool bar.

my advice:

1 know your enemy
if you have time to /examine, and see what professions he mastered
if you don't have that time, you'll have to figure it out while fighting

know the other profession's ideal ranges, defense mods, special attacks, and attack/defend depending on this, if you fight a rifleman, for example, get closer, if you fight a commando, try to delay him and use things that are effective against your opponent, if the guy has high KD resist profession, no need to KD, use some delay or state attacks.

switch weapon as often as you need, depending on the target's vulnerabilities, not talking CDEF, but Krayt Sout blaster/krayt Dx2/Feather weight FWG5/Sonic blaster is a good combo if you manage to get those weapons.

2 use psychology
some attacks can give you psychological advantage, like bleeds or DoTs for example, intimidation is great, as many people don't even know what it's about, and it's a well known fact that people are afraid of things they don't know.

3 use terrain
if you have terrain negotiation, use slopes
if you're in a city, use buildings, move, if you stay static, you're dead
if u get a flame dot, go in water.

4 manage your pools
there's absolutely NO NEED to spam specials, even the more powerfull ones, it's the best way to suicide if the opponent knows how to play. not spamming specials is an "I win" technique against 50% of fighters as THEY DO spam their mind out usually, wait for em to suicide, spamming is worse than a mind bleed, and simply stupid. we get alot of specials, why just use one or two ? I win 80% of my fights that way. My friend is almost master BH, I win almost every time as I'm only pistoleer 0002 and smuggler 0234 (mastered pistoleer before then drop'd it then I'm replaying it FYI)

5 accept the fact that you can loose a fight
cause if there were one profession or one way to win a fight, everyone would just use that one, and who'd win then ? ex aequo every time ? comon !
you can find better fighters than you are with even lower skills, and you can find "uber" players you will own in no time.
nothing to do with luck, only experience.

my 2 cents....

Really good post YamadaMan. Very detailed, which is what I need. Thank you for taking the time to outline all that you did. I am not a big PvP'r, just a SW nut that occassionally ends up in PvP. So I am sure that my "mindset" is not kin to that of the dedicated and experienced PvP folks, such as yourself. I am assuming with buffs getting better and better, though, you would need some kind of specials?

Damned good post Yamada. As he pointed out in a round about sort of way is that specials don't work because stuff like low blow doesn't always hit and can get resisted. The only thing I ever macro'd was bleed2 and bleed1 but those days are gone now since you can't stack them any more. The biggest thing is experience. You got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away, know when to run.

And if they're tk/rifleman just run because they're bugged now and it will take ALOT to kill them.
