...because Dave White (aka Keldarin) confirmed for us at Fan Fest that equipment changes (Weapons, armor, buffs, etc) will be retroactive.Powerful itemsin the current system should convert to powerful items in the next system, but they will be changing. Certifications will also be moving around. Hoard or not hoard at your own risk.
That is all.

Or the 20 pistols you have stored will be awesome...nobody knows yet, tho I did read that the Devs want us using more than just 2 of the weapons. So, apparently, everything will be more useful (striker, tangle, power5?).

Very good point. Look at what they did with Droids - ALL droids past and present got the armor rating taken away.

but if its true then a good damage fwg5 like this will be a good dmg fwg5 after CB (i only hope)
and i guess should stop hording.

Thankyou for stating the obvious.
Honestly, im not trying to have a go, all im saying is that as part of the "re-balance" leaving old stats on old equiptment is hardly going to balance things out now is it. Common sence guys.

Actually BruSwillis, I've been getting PMs about this. Until now I didn't have a 100% answer, but I've been telling people it's risky business, yes.
EDIT: and yeah, I know you aren't trying to have a go.
It's just a bigger question than you might think. Most people probably had a strong suspicion, but it's good to have confirmation.

I was lucky enough to meet Randonb at the FF and I have to say he is a class act on the forums and a class act in person.

Reading back my post does sound a bit off and for that I appologise.
We, meaning in our City on Eclipse, have a "University" and we have invited Devs and correspondants to hold talks about the game/professions and the first one to hold a talk was Jester, the GCW correspondant. Basically he told us all he knew about the re-ballance and it became very obvious that stats on all equiptment will be effected throughout for the reballance to work. Like I said, there cannot be a ballance with stacks of "pre-rebalance" equipment around on the server. The Devs have to change the stats on everything in game now for it to work.

I am very interested in the rebalance, as I know many of us are, for the simple fact it will make a massive difference to the game and make it challenging again.
I didnt mean to be detrimental when I said "stating the obvious" but you just have to see that the Devs refer to this as a "rebalance" to see that hording weapons to try to find an imbalance is something the Devs would have counted for in their early plans.

Yeah a lot of people are nervous about the re-balance, and are paranoid of a nerf on everything but I for one welcome it. Now that the devs have had a year of real input from thousands of players, they will be able to better hone the system than they were able to during and after the beta. I am really looking forward to the CB and the GCW revamp.
