Getting a bit sad as buying pistols is about 80% of my expenses

Pistoleer can be nice in PvP...but you need to invest millions in uber pistols to get to a level where other profs get with stock weaponry with a good slice

I got my less than 50% cond left msg for my 3million Geo today (161-474 1.8 w/ pup tho)...I'm so scared to have it repaired

I spent loads of money to get krayted Rep. blasters and DX2, but they bo near to NO damage in pvp, except on wooks(and in the odd case where someone hase high stun+psg and low base prot)... now wooks got the best armor EVER, my krayt DX2 is useless now

and to know my carbineer friends has a non-loot crafted Laser Carbine (ap2) 117-535 4.0 with pup, and it wasn't even a 35% slice

I love pistoleer, I love my triple Threat template...but it's making me bankrupt

Are you spamming specials? If so it decays your gun fast, same with other ranged profs.

"Flying against Tycho was probably the most difficult thing I'd ever done, and I had an edge in the Force. What he did, what Wedge did, without being able to use the Force made them far more special than any Jedi. They flew with their heart and brains and their entire being."

Stopping shot destroys my guns

is there any other way to use a pistol?

I'm really convinced a Geo's decays much faster then other pistols

But the real point I was trying to make is that we need over expensive loot enhanced weaponry to be (almost) on par with crafted rifles/carbines (and most melee classes too). with on par I mean damage output in PvP...

Ya good pistols are pricey.

A tip though: I wouldnt use Power Ups on really nice pistols, they eat up your condition pretty fast.

I agree with you though, we do have to invest way too much in uber weapons just to be able to compete with most other profs in PvP, sadly thats just the way it goes when PvP is won by he-who-depletes-your-mind-first combat.

Ahhh, but dont worry it'll all be fixed during the combat revamp.

Its expensive to pvp with any profession. Krayted weapons are expensive, I have noticed though that geo pistols are slowly dropping in price so...

From what I hear pikemen have to pay a lot to be good in pvp.

Everyone pays a lot for their PvP weapons.

I have seen krayted jawas selling for 2-3 million

acklay stun batons have sold for 10 million

super high end power hammers go for a million

nightsister vibro lance things are just stupid expensive because of rarity

exceptional DoT carbines have sold for 5 million and up

so its not just pistoleers. most professions pay a lot for their good PvP weapons.

but most those weapons belong to professions that can handle the high level content that gives them the money

Not missions. Missions are chump change. I am talking about the high level loot drops from high level content. Fencer and Pistoleer each against lets say a Krayt. 1000 on the fencer coming out of it.

Gimme a break Ratlif, so you think that pistoleer or any profession for that matter SHOULD be able to solo highend content. Really???

That its possible at all is due to an unbalanced combats system, which eventually will be fixed. When that happens no single profession will be able to solo end-game content.

It just doesnt make sense given the context of a persistant MMOG that a profession that takes mere days to master should be able to solo such high level mobs. Thats my opinion anyway.

TKAs can virtually solo anything in the game. So why can't every other combat profession?

I'll answer your question by providing multiple answers, you may pick the one that fits best.

Q: TKAs can virtually solo anything in the game. So why can't every other combat profession.

A. TKA's are inherently better than every other combat profession. By the very virtue of their existance they deserve to be better.

B. Because every monster/NPC/droid in the game has a vulnerability to damage type vibro-knuckler.

C. Because TKAs are more brave than everyone else, selflessly going toe to toe with their foes.

D. TKAs and Melee damage in general is inherently unbalanced in the game. Add to this with unbalancing Doctor Buffs, unbalanced Armor resists, further template defense stacking and you get a very powerful profession.

YOUR ANSWER HERE: ____

TKAs are one of the best examples of whats wrong with the current combat/armor/buff situation in the game. They and a few others are the poster-children for the Combat Revamp. So to whine about any profession not being as unbalanced and over-powered as TKAs is a bit asanine.
