Isn't DH17 a carbine ?

Ergh sutpid edit button... Well Someone awsered me here yesterday (DH17 is pistol). But is the certif is libelled as carbine... I never tried it tought, but I'm sceptic.

ive got a dh17 pistol unclised @ 79-122 1.7 atk speed works out close to 60 dps :/

I have a similar DH17 too (although not quite THAT good!).

Remember though that minimum modified pistol speed is believed to cap at 1.0, so if you have a high pistol speed skill, odds are you aren't getting the full benefit from it, so you'd find yourself doing more damage with a slower weapon that did more damage.

I also found that with a really fast gun my action pool drains quickly in long pve fights.

I got a fwg5 that does 39-176 with a 1.5 attack speed

FWG5 49-210 dam 2.0 spd

I'm slinging a DH17, 86 - 138 damage, 1.8 speed.

I like the consistancy of the damage, if it was 24 - 200 it would be the same DPS, but it wouldn't allow me to plan my next move as much.

There are 2 types of dh17, one is indeed a pistol and the other a carbine. they both look like carbines though and look the same. The dh17 is actually one of the better pistols in the game right now. A well crafted/sliced one will treat you well. I got an 80-120 sliced down to 1.5 speed. I stuck a =32% speed upgrade on it and it was insane!

Just my opinion, but the dh17 is a bit better than an fwg5 from what I have seen. The fwg5's have superior max damage, but the speed and min damage isn't there. And the dh17's are slightly better onham.

The only problem I have with DH17 pistol is the high HAM costs for special moves. Against tough mobs you'll drain you entire action pool in no time. I have a sliced DH17 that have a spd of 1.3 and 67-124 dam, but the action cost is 47. I end up using my Scout pistol or FWG5 because both have much lower HAM costs. The DPS for the DH17 is impressive but if I drain my entire action pool after every fight, it is not worth it because of the down time afterwards.

mbm has the nicest gun for me, Ive got elite guardsman and my fwg5 2.0 spd fires every second now, so 2.0 is as low as you'll need in future. so basically that gun is 129.5 dps

Incidentally, just a point to remember, you NEVER generally want to slice for speed, instead slice for damage, always.

If you slice for speed, you get hosed on Action cost per damage. You shoot faster, Take more HAM damage because you fire more shots, and kill things faster. If you slice damage, You shoot the same speed, Hit harder, kill things just as fast, and don't pay *any* more HAM than any other unsliced pistol beacuse you aren't firing more shots, instead each shot does more damage..
