Thread: Do you ever use a Striker Pistol

Being a Master Pistoleer it has always been hard fighting against MOBs that only really had a weakness with Kinetic damage. I once bought a striker pistol but the stats were underwhelming. With the release of the Gorax I was able to get a Gorax Bone Shard and had a Master Weaponsmith make me a new Striker Pistol with a scope on it. I was also lucky enough to get a damage slice on it.
I now have a Kenitic Damage weapon with
Min damage 102
Max damage 219
Speed 1.8 and
Wound chance of 32.3 %.
Through in a good power up and life is sweet against those Mobs.
So what do you think, are they a better pistol with the Shard?

I always carry a Striker for those mobs that are only really vuln/low resistanceto Kinetic.
With the shard that's a pretty good weapon to keep around.

I am a pizz poor pistoleer. .. never knew we had a kinetic damage pistol. . thanks for the post.

Strikers can be deadlyfor those kinetic vulnerable NPC's, such as Night Sisters. But Strikers are generally week so you need to get a Uber one just like our Thread Host Sabatian... btw, that sounds like a pretty kick ass striker

I have one on hand: 97-156 2.1spd but I've never used it. I don't go after crazy MOBs though. If sometime I come across a beastie where my other Pistols don't win out, and I need to use a pistol instead of a rifle, then it's only a toolbar click away

I'd use a striker if it wasn't for the fact that I can just go fisticuffs on them.

I soloed a nightsister protector with one once..took 30 or more minutes..but my pistol was only 120 max damage or something. Of coarse i was m doc and had about 2k mind and canape Nice gun going to have to get some gorax shards myself.

That's an amazing Striker!
As I understand it the Gorax is the rarest, most powerful creature in the game. You must have a great loot macro.

more of a smithy question, but does the strike have power handlers that you can put krayt tissue on, or does it have to be gorax shards or other enhancers?

Again thanks for the post. I picked up a striker today, made wiht Gorax, that is 1.5 speed, 218 max with 36.3%wound chance. This is WITH a power up so the damage is not that great but at least i have kinetic now. . .

well i'm an old school pistoleer. since the bh revamp i've been building quite the interesting template. pistoleer 4044/smuggler 0030/bh 0040/tk 4000/commando novice.
i chose commando 1. heavy weapons xp (grinding with a launcher pistol is hella faster than llc)
2. blast damage baby.
striker pistols are ok, but almost everything that is vuln against kinetic is weak against blast. i havea good pvp/pve template that i find that straight pwns most. i lack healing but i'll feign the hell outta dem all day.
