I'm lost... Did I miss something?


Don't get me wrong, I'm having a lot of fun with the new specials, I'm so glad that so much works and sooo many people seem thrilled with whatever they are respecing to for the day, I myself am having a great time with all this crowd control and debuffing skills, but I was expecting to look cool while I was doing it...



While I'm posting... How do we tell if our target is using Energy or Kinetic attacks? or if they are classed as wearing Assault or Recon armour?

SWG was never the game I wanted it to be, even before the NGE. All the NGE did is take away what gameplay SWG actually did have.

I don't get why so many people expected this to be in for the CU. Where did you get that idea from?

These forums when the CU was started it was something they (dev) where going to look at, guess they forgot to look.

Yeah, this was discussed at length well before the CU was even in the Beta process. SOE, and LordMaxxwere always very clear that dual wielding would come with the profession revamps. Frankly, we got more revamped out of this whole CU deal than I ever expected, but there's another revamp coming up just for specific professions in need, and dual wielding will probably be at the bottom of that list (Smugglers, SLs, etc. need the love a lot more at this point!)

You can tell what damage targets ARE using against you by checking the combat log. You may need to turn on the "Verbose" combat log in your ctrl-O options screen.


As far as I can work out, there's no way to tell beforehand what type of attack a mob will be using, beyond general assumptions - creatures will probably generally use Kinetic, whereas Stormtroopers will generally use Energy, for example.

You can tell what kind of armor they're wearing by. . . . Looking at it!

And you can tell what kind of damage they're doing by.. the gun they're using!

Yeah, Kimos don't wear armour, but I can almostsafley assume they have some form of natural armour...

I was under the impression that energy attacks were red, while kinetic attacks were blue (while shooting from a gun).


If someone is punching you, my GUESS is that 95% of the time it will be kinetic. Maybe those commando blaster fists do something as well....
