Thread: Disarm Shot 2 Has Wrong Effect. Get Ready To Say Goodbye To Our AE Knockdown...
Unfortunately Disarming Shot 2 has the wrong affect matched to it. The AE knockdown effect belongs to the Carbineer "Charge Shot 2" in the Master Carbine Special Abilities. I have said this a couple of times and have been ignored. If we as Pistoleers are putting all our eggs in the Disarming Shot 2 basket get prepared to be screwed, because the Carbineers are fully aware of this misplacement of specials, and is one of the issues on their report.
Read the description for the Carbineer "Charge Shot 2":
/chargeshot 2: This ranged attack can knock multiple targets down at once.
Sound familiar? It should. Guess what it does? Medium damage. No knockdown no AE.
Here is the description for Pistoleer "Disarming Shot 2":
/disarmingshot2: This ranged attack is used to hit your opponents weapon. This is more powerful than Disarming Shot 1.
Well it is immediately implied that this should be a more powerful version of DS 1, it's not. It should be hitting the opponents weapon? It does not. What does it do? AE knockdown.
Once the Carbineer report is reviewed and verified be ready to say goodbye to our AE knockdown fellows.
Come on you're digging. It is quite clear that the Disarming Shot series is not misnamed AND has the wrong descriptions. Disarming Shot 2 has the wrong effect attributed to it.
Look, I am a Pistoleer, and I am very worried about this. The one special that everyone is mastering Pistoleer for has the WRONG effect, and it will be taken away from us.
You're worried about this "as a pistoleer" so the first thing you do is come here, tell everyone why it's wrong and why it should be removed?

Caelrie, I am sorry if your reading comprehension leaves lots of room for improvement. Please read over my original post carefully.Let me try a simple summary for you. I am alerting the Pistoleer community, of which I am a part, that their has been a mistake in the effect of Disarm Shot 2. From what I have read on the Carbineer boards they and their correspondant are fully aware of this, and have reported it. So be prepared for it to be fixed. In so fixing it, we will no longer have an AE knockdown effect that we are all striving to get in Master Pistoleer because it will no longer be there. That is a big problem.
I never said it should be removed, just alerting you to the fact that it will most likely be removed.
I am amazed that shiat like this made it out of Beta. There is really no excuse for it.
You have a bad feeling about my integrity? Why? Look I am just pointing something out that should have been clear to all of us. If you want to bury your heads in the sand and hope it goes away so be it. I want to discuss this, and make sure our Pistoleer correspondent knows about it too.
What the hell does this have to do with anyones integrity?

If they do remove the knockdown effect, they should make disarming shot actually do something and fix the rest of pistoleer.
I dont know why you guys want to make this an issue about me, and not an issue about the simple evidence that I have provided, and its implications to the Pistoleer community. I have been a Pistoleer from day one. There were times that I thoughtpistols were overpowerd early on because I could hit stuff all day long from 64m and my carbine friend would miss ALOT. My fear there was that the Devs would fix this after we all get Master Pistoleer and be used to it and then we were screwed. I shut up about that since it seems with higher skills in all the ranged weapons, what range you are at is really a moot point.
This is a VERY similiar issue. Here we have a special that doesnt seem to be doing quite the right thing, but we SURE AS HELL like what it does do, and we strive to get Master Pistoleer so we can get it. Don't you think that will be problem when it does get fixed? Pistoleers at that point will have NO ranged knockdown like just about everyone else. Don't you think this needs to be discussed instead of just being immediately hostile?
