I thinking of dropping tree BH Pistol tree and picking up a melee profession and Drty Fighting 4. Which would be better fencer or TKA?

TKA will get you meditate but less defense, and Fencer will get you loads of defense.

When I finally caved and started dabbling, I went for TKA for the convenience of Meditate. Fencer probably would have helped me survive more fights though.

I have 4003 TKA. I could get that 4th box of defense, but I'm holding out. It's a lot of Combat Experience, and I'm not in any hurry.

I am personally going Master TKA/Master Pistoleer, not as good in the defenses but you can tank pretty well, great dps, and meditation rocks.

Fencer buys you more defense than TK, BUT it costs 14 more skill points than TK if you have the smuggler reqs already.

i'm master pistoleer / fencer (nearly master) and it already is superb in combat. with CoB running i am virtually unhittable. i tested it and turned it off and the damage dealt against me hit the roof. i fight pve without armour cause i wear trousers, bandolier, vest and jacket with + bonuses to warcry and intimidate. i massacre high lvl mobs without taking much damage using a curved sword.

am also going to add 0444 swordsman for pve too.

Used to be tkm/pistol/rogue
low blow seldom seems to work any more because people take the resist stuff.
dropped rogue and picked up two lines of fencer for defences.

Also don't for get Force of Will. A nasty little surprise when they think you are down an out.

Im Master pistoleer , Master Fencer , Rogue , and dabble in tka so i get meditate and extra defense .

This template works really nice in pvp , and very good in low-medium level pve

I'm a TKM Master Pistoleer Master Smuggler and enjoy it. I may not be the uber of uber templates... but I have real fun RPing a smuggler and that is more important to me.

Same here. I love the combo. Might not have the defenses but its so nice to be able to slice, make some cash in a pinch or upgrade my own armor and weapons.

having gone thru many different setups, currently im really liking the whole master tka/master pistoleer/rogue setup. im not much for pvp right now, but in pve its great for me. with the remaining points you can work into scout/medic
