Thread: For your approval: Final Template

Ok...I think this is it:


Master Pistoleer + BH Pistols IV + Smuggler 0040 + ...heres where im not sure...


I can either go with BH investigation III and use all my skill points, or go with novice TK and have a few left. The only reason to go w/ investigation would be to hunt jedi...has anybody else done either of these templates? Eventually I'm going to start doing more and more PvP, w/ jedi or no.

Thats a pretty solid template. Not really good for solo PvP, but is a nice support role. I finished my template out as follows:

Master Pistoleer
Bounty Hunter Pistols 4
Dirty Fighting 4
Novice Commando (for the Launcher Pistol)
Teras Kasi Novice (I like how meditate works even though I know it does nothing to help me heh)

That leaves me with no points left. I thought about getting Investigation 3 to hunt Jedi, but with most Jedi blocking 90% of all ranged attacks, I quickly dismissed that idea.

I'm going to give this template a few more days, butafter my first night of serious PvPI think it lacks enough ranged and melee defense to be competitive. I'm considering dropping smuggler and getting 4/4/0/0 fencer. I have a feeling that the extra ranged and melee defense will be more useful in PvP than the pistoleer specials.

All depends on what you want more. Hunt jedi, or the addition of TKN for meditate and a bit more def?


You can already see where I've gone. Just finished my template, and loving it!

Bah, do what I did. Bh 2040, Pistoleer 2442, Fencer 0440. Capped dodge (means you don't really need a lick of melee/ranged defense). Insane Def. vs States (+100KD, +70 Posture Change, +80 Dizzy). I also have ranged/melee mitigation 2. I can also slice faction bases with investigation II.


I shoot at the speed cap with all my guns and all my specials and I'm wicked accurate. Try scarfing some dodge food and get a Center of Being macro that lets you use CoB with a Pistol. Hit your opponent with the blind from eyeshot to make yourself almost unhittable. If you need accuracy to cut through a defense stackers defenses scarf some citrus snowcake.


I can also warcry/peace then slap on a few intimidates to lower their damage output and lower their defenses.


I used to be a hardcore smuggler, and I'll tell you that the smuggler specials are pretty much useless. Last Ditch is however incredibly nice only because of the stun state it can deliver. The skillpoint requirement for Last Ditch is not worth it at all though. Low Blow is pointless because most people have either high defenses to KD or eat Thatkillo, the KD food which grants crazy defense to KD. I use suppression shot from marksman to stop an enemy cold in their tracks. Feign Death - pointless with the armor switch delay. Panic Shot is nice for crowd control only now.... but why use it when you can have WarCry which does the same damn thing with a far far far less skillpoint cost (novice brawler - yea... Panic Shot got nerfed bigtime to be balanced with a novice starter profession skill.... wth?)


Probably the nicest thing about this template is the high defense vs dizzy. If you get dizzy/kd'd you won't staythere for long. Anyways you will get torn to shreds with just the pistoleer defenses if you get tagged by muliple people aiming to bring you down on your back.


I see so many people grab the BH 0040, MP, Dirty Fighting template and that seems awesome for PvE, but for PvP you might want to trade the slight offensive advantagethat your template has over mine for incredibly better defenses man...


You'd probably beat my template in a duel toe to toe, but any profession with the capacity to dizzy/kd you will eat you for lunch. My template would do far, far better against them. You would especially be hurting against a melee profession. Riflemen/carbineers would dizzy/kd you fast and end your day. Melee would tear you up due to your lack of melee mitigation and poor state defenses. You'd definitely kill any average pistoleer, but most people kill them easy anyways hehe. I would not advise this. I hear that having high ranged/melee defense is only useful if you can get very close to the 125 cap on these. Why not aim at capping your dodge instead? You can eat Pikata Pie to take your 125 dodge up to 170 or more. The one drawback of the dodge skill is that high accuracy on the part of your attacker cuts through dodge. Shoot them in the face with eyeshot to destroy their accuracy


Unless you can get melee/ranged defense near 125 I highly advise capping your dodge and getting the defense vs. states of Fencer 0440.

I have been comfortable with Master Pistoleer and BH Pitols 0040, even though I am going for MBH. It is really good in Pvp, and I have takent ons of TKMs with it and introduced them to the ground. You just have to play your template right,

Yea, but what's the point of having high melee/ranged defense when you have capped dodge? I have heard (and from what I feel about the subject) you shouldn't bother getting melee/ranged defense high unless you can get near or up to the cap on them.

If you do combat prowess FS mods you wont need to worry about this
