Thread: A question about Pistol melee Def 1 / Pistol melee Def 2
A quick and simple question.
Pistol melee Def 1 / Pistol melee Def 2
I am thinking of going fencer/pistoleer, and I would like to know,if any of the above is a KD-effect, or is it merely a posturechange?
As for Pistoleer/Fencer, the Dodge modifiers no longer stacks, so this is generally considered a bad combination. I'd rather recommend you to do Pistoleer/TKM

They are both KD, however PMD2 is bugged, so the KD effect doesn't actually work.

According to the fencer forum, they do stack
In your Skill view, you WILL see Dodge stacked from Fencer and Pistoleer, but in the serverside calculation of your Dodge skill, only the skill related to the profession whos weapon you have equipped will be counted. That means, equip a pistol, and you get the pistoleer dodge, equip a 1handed sword, and you get the fencer bonus. You get +105 either way, not +210.

Ok, I'm comming off as an **edit** again, I'm just tired of explaining to MMORPG players that there is very important differences between serverside and clientside in these kind of games. The Dodge will stack on your Skills monitor, simply because there is no way to display 2 identically named skills seperately. This is the same was as tho even you can put on BE clothes with +25 enhancement each, they won't actually give more than +25 EFFECT.

I never said anything about seeing my skillmodifiers, and that is why they stacked, I refered to the fencerforum

Now who am I to believe, I dont know, I dont care, as I dont do it for dodge. But one thing I have to say, it seems like they have put more research into it, thanwhat I have seen in the replies above.
Sorry for answering a little harsh, but i felt the tones of your replies was uncalled for, as I only said, that the fencerforum had posts with a different view on dodge.

The dodge modifiers used to stack, but it was removed (either with the big patch or a hotfix) because once they fixed dodge, this stacking made someone almost impossible to hit. Any posts you saw with data would be from before this fix.

I'm not here to win an election, I don't go out of my way to document what I say. Whether you believe it or not, doesnt mean a flying **edit** to me, and honestly, how often do you see flying **edit**?
You are wrong if you think Fencing Dodge doesn't help when having pistol out, STILL.
I'm a Master Fencer who is going up Pistoleer Tree.. and I started this last Wednesday off and on.
I dodged ~80% (if not more)of attacks (huurtons)while even doing the basic Pistol boxes before even getting to Novice Pistol.
Now with zippo other mods in play.. the only way I can avoid that many attacks of a Huurton Huntress with a pistol when at that low a level in pistol is if the Defense Modsfrom Fencerare in play.
I understand a propensity to quote Devs... but it's not really true in practice in this case.. Shouldn't talk about that which you haven't experienced.

Oh that is why you used two posts to convince me ![]()
Oh and a friendly piece of advice, they argumentation, "I know it, I am right", does not work very well out of kindergarten, even if you happen to beright.
He is right about dodge... It also is in the fencer forums that the dodge modifiers go by the weapon equiped.
That being said ... pistol whip 2 works ..but not as well as one. Most times it just doesn't KD the target.
