Thread: Is it just me or is the DE-10 not as good as it should have been??

Man O man my head hurts..... hurts from the fact that I just spent 2.2 mil on a Krayt DE-10 to find out that it SUCKS!!! Seriously come on!!! all this hype "Oooooh Pistoleer will be strong now!!", "Ohhh now I can Kick some arse in PvP"......... BULL this gun sucks I was happy with my krayt RB's and Geo Pistols

What do u think?

Looking at this weapon (still haven't seen one unkrayted though) it seems obvious that this weapon is supposed to be the answer to our PvE nightmare. An AP1 energy pistol which when krayted has a damage range almost comparable to a T21, and with our speed mod and delay timers it might as well be a T21. At master pistoleer we can't even use generics at the one second cap, stopping shot will require you to pay millions for tapes or take the BH pistols line and lose out on any hopes of having defence.
The Geonosian Tangle Blaster was our PvP weapon, the DE-10 our PvE. But my opinion on the DE-10, worthless. AP1 energy is not a gift to pistoleer, it's a slap in the face after the new rifles that we added previously. The fact that both the DE and Geo are based on post CB calcs means those are our new guns for '04 and we'll see the devs again after JTL





I think a lot of people would agree that making it ap1 cold or maybe even ap2 energy would really have made it a worthwhile weapon. However in any case it does not come close to "fixing" pistoleer considering that it's in an "end game" dungeon as a rare-ish schematic that requires a rare-ish loot component (that is bugged so we can't even be sure of the quality).

I spent weeks gathering the various parts and krayt tissue for this gun. . .and I'm sorry to say that I too am disappointed. Before I had one I had never seen it in action so was excited. I didn't the "blue lightning" bolts were very exciting. . . maybe my animation is off or my video card sux but frankly I didnt see anything special.


As for damage, I don't think it does its job. . . its max damage is1.5 times that of my modified republic but the actual damage inflicted doesnt seem to reflect it. That coupled with its decreased speed almost makes it more of a hinderance. This is all after only two hours of use so maybe as time goes on I'll see a difference but for hte time being, the Geno Blaster will still be my weapon of choice in PvP...

Aside from the fact that it is a redundant damage type (energy) and still only AP1 it is a fine gun. Mine has a max damage of over 600 so I will not complain

But the DE-10 looks really cool equipped. Something we cant say about the DX-2. I'm glad that the devs finally gave us a weapon that looks nice, unfortunately it doesnt have the combo (like any other classes new weapons) of looking great and being useful. I mean, come on, Energy? Who the f**k would use energy in PvP, not to mention that the resists on most mobs make this pistol equivalent to any other marskman pistol. Once again i am severly dissappointed in the devs, and JTL better be AMAZING cuz im starting to get fed up. Well, i feel better after my little rant.

Of course the geo is a better in PvP right now because it does stun damage. the best stun armor is only about 40% resists. were as the energy resists are about 70-80%. once comp is brought down to reasonable levels, the DE-10 will become much more useful.

From what I read on DE-10, it is more intended for post-combat balance use. I would put it on the shelf but like a previous post stated. . .It DOES look really, really cool equipped. . .

It's useful in that me Vs an AT ST isn't a standoff anymore and I can kill them now.

I would have to agree . . i used my 660 max damage DE-10 (sliced and powered) in a duel . and got my butt handed to me. Retried the same friendly duel with my 550 max Geo blaster and proceeded to deliver a butt whiping. The DE-10 as it stands now (AP1 and energy damage) is useless in PvP.
