Thread: Space mining with PoB's question

Anyone get mining to work with PoB's i've set my decimator up with 2 class 3 mining lasers that worked fine on my firespray, when i throw em in i take 1 person in top gunner with me, shoot the asteroid and nothing(3500 cargo hold equipped), i tried the same with my y-8 and still nothing, though i've heard of people in PoB's that have gotten them to work just fine so is there some trick to this or what?

I think to get them to work, you must have a pilot. Thus, you can't do it solo.
I think that holds true for a lot of things about POBs. If I remember right, the same happened to my Y-8. Stuck a mining laser in the turret and couldn't mine without having someone in the pilot chair.

I tried with 1 person in gunner while i was in the pilots chair and it still didn't quite work, granted i'm using a pre-nerf decimator and crafted mining lasers would that make the difference maybe?

I have heard, but have not tried myself, that the Elite mining laser works in the Y-8. Crafted tractor beams and Mark III mining lasers do not work in any POB ship. Have you tried the quest-reward mining laser in the Decimator? Those might work. The quest reward tractor beam is reported to work in the Y-8 as well.
I should try it myself to make sure I actually know what I am talking about here... Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Orig Deci's had 5 million mass.
They were nerfed for a time to 500k mass, then un-nerfed (heh, by popular demand). I assume pre-nerf just means "very old" at this point.
It's important if you're running a very old Deci to redeed if you haven't.
