Thanks for the response, but that's not it. I did that initially though and couldn't figure out why that weapon wasn't firing.
Maybe it's the graphics error thing, some weapons will not show up as fitted or fire on the Krayt, I had a looted weapon that could be loaded in the Manage screen but didn't appear or work on the ship.
It worked fine on my YT and Vaksai.
All I can suggest is try swapping the weapons with those on another ship and see if it goes away.
Chances are that you don't have enough Reactor energy. I've had this happen before; I've run Reactor overload III and everything worked fine. Make sure you check your Reactor levels before launching and note that any overloads, e.g., cap, engine, etc., can affect the Reactor drain.

You can check your overload/disable status from the V screen.
Yes, on a Krayt, weapon 2 is the turret.
I have looted guns (one in particular) that won't fire in any ship, any slot. It's just plain broke. I used it for RE fodder.
I have faced this problem before in my Krayt, but never where it changed upon zoning/hypering.
Try 1) resetting weapon groups to default from the G screen
2) swapping slots from the manage window.
