After taking a break from piloting and SWG in general for a day, I decided to strip down all my fighters and outfit one with what I could to prepare for a 6th attempt on the Star Ravager. After spending 45 minutes contemplating loadouts on the Heavy Syck and Actis and things I can live without on it, I finally decided to set up my Actis with a high speed, high damage loadout.

I loaded my REd QID (75ish PYR, 100 spd), REd Protecto-Net shield (13 recharge, 1.8kish F/R), REd lvl 4 booster (2k energy, 150 use, 51 recharge), REd lvl 4 cap (1.1k energy, 46 recharge), REd lvl 3 reactor (12k energy, 1k mass), REd Ionic Pulse Weapon (3k dmg), a crafted advanced blaster (2.8k damage), REd DI (15.6 spd), and a MKII proton launcher into my Actis. Loaded up a fresh pack of missiles and headed to Dathomir and then Kessel.

I got insystem Kessel and the Star Ravager was there, the bane of my trek thru Smugglers Alliance. I slipped in behind it and snuck up on Weapon 5. 2 shots and boom, gun gone. I boosted down and away in a medium corkscrew, drawing the fighters away from the vette. After a full throttle dogfight and jousting match, the fighters were crushed. I moved in on the vette, making high speed passes, taking out the primary shield. Then watched in dismay as it jumped out.....

.... 2 hours later, it spawns again. This time I'm ready for it. I've got a Rebel pilot in an X-wing looking to kill the vette as well, so we team up. I started like last time, sneak in and take out weapon 5, then boost away and take on the fighters. The two of us made quick work of the fighters, so we turn our attention to the corvette. At this point, I'm already short on missiles (2 left after my previous encounter) and just proceed to fly erratically and strafe the vette. Secondary shield, out. Primary shield, out. Engine, out. Weapons, out. Moments later, a grand explosion and the corvette is destroyed. We tracked down the two gunboats and vaped them afterwards.

7 tries is all it took, and now I look back on the previous 6 failures and see what I did wrong. I was too excited about the vette and made too many mistakes. The Star Ravager is definitly a different beast compared to the Rebel corvette. Killed the rebel corvette on my second try and helped 2 others get their ace badges, but this one is a sweeter victory. To everyone that posted words of wisdom, advice, and encouragement in my "i hate space now" thread... THANK YOU You were all more than just helpful, you gave me the courage to face the vette again and finally destroy it. *Hugs all around*

Beer and pizza will be served aboard my YT1300 when it's fully christened, hehe

Congratulations. Being utterly underunber, it took me a couple of tries as well. Doing it with limited missiles make it all the better, nice job.

Next time you're doing an all-guns corvette run, after taking out the gunboats and weapon five, try sliding out from underto the side until you're at about 30 degrees and targeting the shields from there. IT takes some wiggling, but you can target them without exposing yourself to topside fire.

Gratz. Having the right attitude makes all the difference, I've found.

Congrats!!

Beer? I can't have beer. And it's nasty in the first place . How about some ginger ale for me? And a private island. And a monkey, can I have a monkey?

Veermok?...I'd rather have a Woolamander. A Woolamander in an Imperial pilot suit with a Rebel Ace helm that has a Blacksun Ace Helm strapped to its back. I'd then sell it for a billion jillion credits and steal it back. I win!

Hehehe, then I'd make it man a turret on my Deci and buy a second Woolamander and put him in the other turret. After that, I'd nab Celaki and put her in the Operations chair.
