the jedi starfighter is available only to those who do the quest.
to do the quest you MUST be an imperial on the ground. this means you either have to be a space Imp or Neutral to get to kashyyyk. You do not need to do the space part. you get the ship before space is even required.
You cannot buy the ship and be able to use it without DOING THE QUEST. All factions are certed to fly it but you have to do the quest, no ifs ands or buts.
it has the exact same stats as the Bel-22 which can be used regardless of getting the deed yourself from the necrosis bot.

you don't have to be a pilot at all to get to kashyyyk, when i dropped rebel pilot, i just flew my yacht, which requires no pilot skill at all

But the yacht is slow as heck and not really worth it.

That depends entirely on how many people on your server enjoy training those Tier 5 gunboats over to Kashyyyk station.

I was led to believe that you do indeed have to do the space part of the mission, or the JSF will sit in your datapad telling you you are note able to use it?
Anyone clear this up for me?
(Yes I have one - yes I did the space bit.)

Nope, the space portion is not required. Something about Vader saying (paraphrased), "Here, take my old ship and use it to make those Rebels regret being born." sends the message that you're supposed to use the JSF for the last mission. Thus, making that mission a requirement to fly it seems kind of silly.

Ah....the reason I asked was I'd been talking to players who had gotten hold of the JSF, done a runner with it and 2 days later couldn't use it.
Mind you - the mission was fun in itself, and to bag a ship without wanting to then do space missions also seems kinda odd.
