Thread: Who uses the heavy Z95?

I was just comparing the stats of some rebel ships, and noticed that the Heavy Z-95 actually is pretty good. I am thinking about outfitting it over my B-22, as it is more star-warsy to me.

In the rebel arsenal, I have been using the A-wing a lot as a fast fighter, and after that the B-22. I do use the (heavy) x-wing too, but I consider that more a tank then a fighter.

Anyway, drawbacks compared to the B-22 are the larger hitbox and not having the second gun. It does have 5k more mass though, and the same turning stats. Drawbacks compared to the A-wing are that the a-wing has no speed modifier, while the B-22 and Z-95 have 0,95... On the other hand the turning speed is much better than the A-wing's

So to summarize: it has a slightly big hitbox and only one gun, but it's fast, turns really sharp, and is very original... Going to mine me the required resources tonight, build me one, outfit it and try it out.

What I would like to know is, who else is using it (except for re-grinding), and what your experiences are, both in PvP as well as in PvE...

Cheers

Glzmo was a great visionary. Perhaps SOE should have listened to him instead of rebuilding everything all the time.

My alt just used the Heavy Z95 togrind rebel pilot from scratch to 4333. Then I ditched it for the heavy X-Wing as this was my plan all along. I soloed the mission to get the heavy X-Wing using the heavy Z95.

The heavy Z95 is not as good as the heavy Scyk. The one critical problem the heavy Z95 vs the heavy Scyk is gun position. The single pair of beams that the Z95 has are so far apart you can easily miss a tie interceptor by straddling it with your shots. I watched this happen time after time and it was maddening. Ships with a larger hit box were no problem, but the microscopic hit bot on the tie interceptor was pain in the @ss.

It was preferrable to use the heavy Z95 over the Y-Wings to grind to 4333. After grinding with it for three days though, I can honestly say that I hope to never fly a Z95 of any kind ever again.

Hm, if they weaponplacement is that bad, it might be an issue... It immediately reminds me of the ARC-170, which I loved a lot flyingwise, but of which the weapon placement of the forward gun makes me hardly use is.

Well, I will just have to load one up and see how it performs.

It is not quite as bad as the ARC but it is a bit wide. If you want a fast fighter and don't mind only having one gun use an awing. it has less mass but the small hit box gives you much more survivability.

I used a Heavy Z-95 all the way to 4333, when I soloed the mission for my Advanced X-wing. It's a good ship.
