Thread: Crafted engine question *shudder*

Ok, crafted engines have gotten better yes?

I also understand that a mk IV will be under 20k mass. In fact, forget what mk it is, I can use them all. I need to know this though.

What is the best speedand r,p,y you could get out of a crafted engine under 20k mass?

This is taking into consideration a shipwright using their -best- resources and skills etc and aimng for as high a r,p,y and speed possible without compromising either of those attributes.

I'm never going to use one because my re'd engines are better for the way I fly butI guess a more specific question would be, could a crafted engine with r,p,y above 70 and a speed above 100 be made under 20k mass?

I ask because I'm ..well curious.

Nop.

Mark IV Engines= 13k mass, 103 speed and 60+ YPR

A mark V will come with 33k mass (average). you can probably make them with 70 YPR and 100 speed... but i'm not sure right now... months have passed since i build my last lvl 9 engine :/

I normally use a generic Mk4 crafted engine made by Tomo that has 62yp, 58(or something close)r, and 103.5 top speed. When I want more ypr I use a more specialized Mk4 crated engine also made by Tomo with 72yp, 62r and 89 top speed. I boughtboth off his vendor so I am sure he has made better

Edit: not in game so the numbers might be off by a couple points but that is what I can remember.

My "PVP" crafted engines something look like this:

Mark IV 13.4k mass 88 Speed 67.6/67.6/57.5 Y/P/R
Mark V 33.5k mass 100 Speed 72.6/72.6/59.8 Y/P/R

Those numbers assume a 25% assembly. 26-27% assembly is definately possible, that'll bump the PYR numbers up maybe 0.5.

Note, all crafted engines are going to hit you bigtime in the power department. No EO4 for you!!

Oops... the second engine is a mk5 and top speed is 101... the mk4 that is higher in ypr is 68 yp and 58 r with 89 top speed

Exactly, I was just curious though. I like to know what potential enemies are using. I had no doubt in my mind that re'd engines were better, but I had heard rumours that some crafted engines fit the specs I described. The people who told me that though must just have been BS'ing. Thanks for the info.

Id ask this question again after the entertainer buff changes go live. The finish products will be a touch better.

I dont think we are going to be able to updrade much more the rates with the new buffs... maybe 1 more pointfor each Y/P/R, but I think I'm being optimist here

Ive "specialized" in PY experimented engines Ive been able to come up with following:

MK5: 103 spd, 72 PY, 60 R

MK4: 89.5 spd, 69.9 PY, 58R

the dual 69.9 mk4 is the result of some great experimentation results, standard is 68.5 I think

These engines are definately worth using in PvP if you cant afford those hq RE engines.. I charge 100k and 200k for mk4 and 5 (and Ive sold some 96spd 80+ PYR lvl 10 engines for several million credits a piece)
