Thread: Okay, who's going to be the first to scream BULL ****!
(Someone clicky me!)
Interview with devs regarding the future of SWG. Be forewarned, they weasel out of nearly every question. (Just like the last time.)
The only decent info in the November date for the smuggler stuff, though, he didn't say November 2005.
I really don't like to smack people in the face, but...that was really a crappy interview, imo.
Not only that, but they did not ask a single question about space...
It kind of makes you wonder if SOE, like most celebrity interviews, purposely limited the scope of the interview to highlight/showcase the upcoming expansion, and to stay away from an interview that amounts to responses to a bug list.
Domingo
at the end of the day, any interview, or irc chat you will get vague answers, they are like politicians, ask a question and get a statement (not related back).
I don't think any CSR/DEV will ever give you a straight answer EVER.
SWG Vault: Communication from the developers has been irregular since Fan Fest. Can we expect a return to more open and consistent communication in the future?
Julio Torres: I do agree that we need to improve our communication with our player base. In essence, SWG is the players' game, and we must respond to concerns players have. We will make an effort to improve this communication moving forward.
SWG Vault: Will we see more "story driven" content in the future, both on ground and in space, and if so when?
Julio Torres: Trials of Obi-Wan represents this type of content, as the addition of Mustafar will immerse players into Star Wars-directed story arcs like they have never experienced before. You're taking on missions from the "blue glowy" of Obi-Wan himself. How cool is that?
Leaph Chausew: Not cool. What do these guys take us for? Just because we now have some dead-NPC to lecture us on the ways of the Jedi, which may I add half of us couldn't care less about, doesn't make it cool. I don't know what I'm insulted more about. The fact that the stuff they have lined up for us looks like it'll stink somthing awful or the fact that they genuinly believe and take the p*ss by patronising us with comments such as 'how cool is that?'.
Now, I'm glad SOE are doing somthing about smuggling, I really am but still...take a look at the whole picture SOE, you're not doing what the core payers want and as for Publish 23, well..we have Test Centre for a reason. How the hell can a broken publish be released like this?!
P.S
Thankyou for breaking the pilot profession even more than it is already.

You really expected anything else? This PR stuff is always so vague you may aswell call it useless.

What was said can be taken two ways:
That there will be real Smuggler content in November.
Or
That we get to play the new content in the expansion, same as everyone else.
Though it is worded slightly to favor the second interpretation, I'll believe it when I see it.
If there is actually true smuggler content in the expansion, that's still a crock 'o fecal matter.
Promising Smugglers a revamp for two years then making us buy an expansion to get it is lower than assaulting old people for their social security checks.
I couldn't care less about getting missions from a dead guy.
