Thread: What do I look for in a good reactor?

I finally made it to where I can get a decent ship with decent components. For reactors, is higher regeneration rate better or lower. It seems like lower would be better because it regenerates faster. Is this correct? Thanks for any insight.

you look for the lowest mass with the generation you need to run your components and any overloads you are using. unused power is of no use, so it makes no sense to waste mass on a bigger reactor if you dont need the power.

You can get some really nice lvl 1 (or was it 2) reactors that RE into 12kish Generation with very low mass. With Overload, you can fit pretty much anything you want into a smaller type fighter like a JSF or advanced.

low mass, high generation especially if your an imp, i run a 1000 mass, with 11k generation in my tie interceptor

Mark I crafted, 1300 mass 12.5k energy. It can be made a little lighter if you don't need that much power.
