ok as i can read in the thread pilot FAQ 3.0, canceling an active master ace pilot skill will result in losing all fp and skills.
but theres a point where the faq says i will recieve a previous master BONUS for next pilot training i will start.
(1+number of previous mastered pilot squads)
if im imp and ace pilot, quit that faction and change to rebel, will i recieve DOUBLE XP in space ??? all the time til reb master pilot???

In short, yes.
This is also the reason you'll never see FS starship/prestige xp conversion.
