im a freelance pilot working for jabba and the first missioni have to kill some fighters and disable a wepon ship how do i disable it without destroying it???

By reading the FAQ? Hit [ key to cycle through components. that will disable it

Some people are like slinkies; pretty useless, but still fun to push down the stairs.

how do i actually hit the engin i am just hitting sheilds and armor even though i have engien thing selected??

Once the sheilds and armour go down, you'll start damageing the engine. Once the engine is gone you'll get a target disabled message. Make sure you do not shoot the target after that or it will go boom.

Here's where we get to say, "Try a little before you post." Don't give up just because they shields and armor dipped a bit, why not keep trying on your own?

In addition to reading the FAQ, read your quest journal. It will usually tell you exactly what you have to do. Press "J" to access it in space.
