On my Bel I switch between One RE'd lvl Borstel, coupled with an RE'd lvl 7 and a Reward lvl 8 Shield (2,555 HP front and Back) and Two RE'd lvl 8 Borstels with an RE'd lvl 7 Shield (about 1600 HP Front and Back). I do a break down, by the numbers, of one of the Borstels I use and some of the best Crafted Comparables that were available at the time on my server. http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=profshipwright&message.id=24358#M24358

Good lord, how do you fit a lvl 10 gun as well as a 7 onboard
Maybe it was just some bad RE'ing on my part, but I'm cutting it close with my current setup, and I'm running a lvl 7 re'd gun, lvl8 reward shield RE, and lvl 8 nym's starmap engine RE'd, which end up taking the majority of space in my JSF/B-22.

I use twin level 7 Quickfire crafted. at about 15k mass each, leaves plenty of mass for other high quality parts.

I REed the level 10 down to 41k mass, and the level 7 is REed down to 15k mass. This leaves me 34k mass for everything else, which is plenty.

My personal prefrance is hancrafted guns. Make sure they are crafted for speed. They might not hit as hard or have effectiveness equal to the good RE guns. BUT, they have a refire of around .260, that means I have a lot more the blaster bolts in space then most other fighters. These guns have given me a real edge in PvP and PvE. Mostly in PvP. When I score one hit with them, chances are I hit them a second or third time. This results in them becoming space dust very fast. In PvE,since I hit the same percentage of the time I do more damage. Just like the ground game the faster you fire the more damage you can do in the long run.
As for using disrupters and/or ions. DON'T. The diffrence in damages doesn't make a big enough diffrence int eh gaem. If there were ships that ahd light armor and heavy shields or light shields and heavy armor it would be worth it. All fo teh NPC ships ahve what seems to be equal amounts of boh. In PvP, people seem to have more shields then armor, BUT the shields doie so fast any way with blasters it doesn't amke a diffrence.
