Thread: tier 4 smuggler alliance ?

Ok I just finished tier three in which all of your advancement was dependant on completeing a mission per skill learned. My question is do I have to run missions for tier 4 or can I just spend the next week hitting random spawns until I have the xp and train. I know that the missions are a good source of xp but they also get to be a bit boring.

You gotta do the missions, for SA they do start to get a bit hard towards the end of T4.

Rule of the thumb (atleast for me) always do any Non Duty Mission the trainer offer to you.
When you have completed a mission see what he offers, and if its a Duty go grind at what spot you usually find good.
Tier 1 need xp (I forgot how much)
Tier 2 need xp (60k per box)
Tier 3 only need the first 200k xp, rest of the boxes are freebies after each mission.
Tier 4 need xp (1 mill per box)
Tier 5 (Master) Missions, no xp needed at all.

for tier 4 u will get a "must do" mission after every teach by your trainer.
the 1st tier 4 SA mission is relatively easy as the main goal is to stay out of combat. in the hardest part u will face 2 waves of corsec gunboats. i get blown away by the 2nd wave within seconds (4 or 5 tier 4 gunboats) as i used IFF on the first wave and wasnt ready for another use when they came up. on my next try i turned around hit the boosters when the first wave spawned - i initiated a insystem hyperjump and got away the moment the 2nd wave showed up.
the 2nd mission is harder - mainly the escort part as u have to face the ties (opressor or agressor?) with a turret. u cannot take them down from behind as they hit u with every shot from their back turret. but they can be taken out by jousting.
the 3rd mission is long but not that hard - valarian tier 4 and tier 5 kimoglias. its a long escort mission (over one hour for me). the kimos are slow and easy targets - i earned 360K XP during the mission.
i soloed upto here. now i hang with the 4th mission - its hard to take out that corsec gunboat. but i m working on it
