Can anyone tell me if, when doing missions in space with a group. does everyone have to be the same faction? my husband and I have been trying to do one of his storyline missions all day and I can't hit or damamge the targets. I'm neutral and he's rebel. I'm rebel on the ground and i've tried declaring at a rebel space station so I'm overt and I still can't attack tie fighters related to his mission! Does anyone have any ideas? Do I have to be a rebel to help him?

thanks in advance

I believe the problem may be which neutral pilot squadron you belong to, one of them is allied with the Empire while another is allied with the Rebels. There is only one truely neutral pilot squadron. I believe but may be completely wrong, Smuggler's Alliance is with the Empire and the Corsec on is with the Rebel Alliance and the third one, the one from Naboo is the true neutral. But again I forget which is which. Someone else here will probably correct me on this.

Yes, you're indeed completely wrong. SA is with the Rebels, the RSF on Naboo is allied with the Empire, Corsec is the true neutral.

and once again. RSF is with the empire. as a RSF pilot, you can not attack Imperial craft.

Corsec i believe is true, being totally neutral

Smuggler's Alliance is not Alliance related

Several of the missions for Jabba (tier 3 i think) you are HELPING the Empire. Although a majority of you enemy craft are Jabba, Valerians, Death Watch etc.

anyone else wanna tag some on to this?

All I know is that SA's final master missions entail you killing Imperial ships and vette.

SA can kill Imperial or Rebel ships at any time, but will mostly be unable to hurt Hutt ships (except during the missions where you're working for Lady Valarian, I think). Its final mission is against an Imperial corvette.

RSF is strongly Imperial-aligned, and cannot hurt Imperial ships at any time. Its final mission is against a Rebel vette.

CorSec is completely neutral and can pretty much shoot whatever it pleases. Even its final mission is your choice: kill either an Imperial or a Rebel vette.

Actually, there is a way for RSF to hurt certain Imperial ships, but it's a post Master workaround and only applies to Deep Space and Kessel.

Generally speaking though, RSF Rebels are some of the most unfortunate people in Space. It's kinda ridiculous that getting the "Rebel" RotW ship involves talking to the Queen of Naboo. Members of her own pilot corps have zero chance to complete the mission.

Tomo, has anyone checked out the New Player stuff yet to see if there is an aspect that explains Pilot a little better? The descriptions when we had a pick-a-wheel during character generation were pretty vague, I'm just wondering if there was anything done to address minor problems like this for newer players.

Oooh this just gave me an idea for the GCW focus thread.... I'll post it later when I have it fleshed out in my head.

Hmm, I don't know if the squadron descriptions were made any clearer. If anyone would like to check, that'd be great, otherwise I'll try to take a look eventually.
