I got a quest that tells me to survive / escape an imperial attack. they are a tier over me, and outnumber me 6-1, so I figured escaping was as good an option as any. but the mission doesn't seem to end. do i have to kill these to finish my mission? (it's the third part of a tier 4 smuggler alliance quest).

its stupid but check your quest log .... rather than hyperspace out of there you have to GOTO the escape position, have a large hyperspace sig appear THEN get out of there ! I did the same as you and had to go back to find the escape point !
