Kessel works for me

A Duty mission against tier4 ships is probably the "best"

Drop rates from t5 in kessel are sporadic, and I end up hunting for them more often than killing them when im there.

A Duty is steady work, and tier4 is ideal for "tier appropriate" (L8) loot.

If you're not an Imp find a trainer and get a Black Sun Destroy Duty.

endor is quite good for level 8-10 loot - try the Death Watch/Blacklight spawns there, under POI i think.

Have you tried the GWVS? Lots of looted, even REd, guns can be found if you search vendors

Yes I did. I have another thread on Starsider Trade Forems to buy the looted guns. It was there that I stated that I couldn't find any in the galaxy vendor search. Thought I had mentioned it, got my threads confused. Been all night shooting tier 4s and not one stinking lvl 8 gun I have enough lvl 7 guns to RE enough to outfit all 3 of my ships LOL. But at least I started my Master missions! Going to keep looking.

If you are a freelance pilot, I'd suggest going to the corsec trainer in the dantooine mining outpost and getting the duty from the trainer there.

Why that particular trainer? Because he's got the longest duty out of all the tier 4 trainers (basically, there is an extra wave between every commander). It isn't blacksun, though, so if you are after the helmet, too, go to the RSF trainer.

If there were magic spawns that dropped component type [insert name here] they would have been discovered already. It just takes patience and persistence.

While higher tier ships are supposed to drop higher level loot, they also drop less loot overall (because the lower drops are filtered) if you want more chances at loot, but lower chance at the L8 gear you want, try the Yavin station Destroy Duty vs Debris cultists.

PS L7 guns may not be what you are looking for, but there are at least 2 new RotW reward components that are L7 guns with interesting or unique Firing Effects. I had to work hard to get enough to RE my 2 Rendili FG1-a so my JSF would have 2 blue laser beams, but I don't regret the work. You might have luck trading some L7 for some L8 if you can find a longtime pilot who's not as much in the market for L8 any more, but want's some L7 to RE these reward items with.
