Hello all, I'm looking for some tips on how to solo this mission. Please do not post "I've solo'd it, it's easy".... I'm interested in your ship configuration and your tactics for handling this challenging quest. Thanks!

Approach it like any multi-gunboat battle, like the two gunboat battles you hit in some T4 missions. It's actually not that hard when you start to look at it like a puzzle. Never stand still, and I'd advise ships with a smaller profile.

You know, you might wann try it with a POB ship cause they rule the skies now.

A POB would get ripped to pieces in seconds, literally. They're are 4 Tier 5 gunboats in that mission, all with the super aggresive AI.

I dunno...lead those gunboat around at, say, 550 meters and let your 5k turrets ping away at them, might be very effective.

BTW, the enemy ships will have a max speed that matches your own. Don't run EO4 until the fight starts if you want to be faster than 'em.

Seriously though Higgs, think about it, 2 guns 5k plus each, you run EO4 at the beginning and with boosters, yu hit like 1700+ and 9k+ shields, come on man. If you had a full crew you could rule the skies.

I just think is this time of situation the hitbox size is too big of a hurdle to over come. With the right tactics and good turrets maybe, but it certainly isn't the move efficient way.

Additionally, the OP is looking for advice to SOLO the mission. Using a POB isn't exactly soloing unless you are in the ship alone. If you can pull that off, then this last publish ruined JTL.

To answer your question Shmook,

I used a B-wing ( I'll Post exact spec later when I get back on)

Things you need to know are the Mission timer is 5-20mins if you get 5mins you have no chance 20mins is what you really want. Stopwatch may be handy.

The first part of mission always fails so don't worry about that but it is useful because that is gonna be the jump in point for the main formation.

The formation consists of, 1 Heavy Cruiser 2 med crusiers 2 Gunboats (imp style) 2 ARC170 and 2 Bell-22.

I usually WP the Kash Station and the Reb outpost some 14km away and use this as my running line so as not to get stuck up against the space box.

Get close enough to the formation to get there attention and run out to reb outpost. About 3km from kash turn round and fly straight down the throat of the formation, pick your ship target and then target subcomponent engine/reactor. I give some of the other ships a few squirts as I boost and close wing capshunt through the back of formation. Cap shunt your shield backup and then turn into the formation again.

I try and disable fighters first then go straight for the Heavy Cruiser, because the object is just to let them self destruct and you don't want to be left with the Heavy cruiser at the very end when your 19 mins into the party and you really have to kill the last ship.

You may need a few passes at each ship to disable so just grind them down methodically.

One thing I particulary noticed was I got hit a lot more on the back than the front area so I did put a Re'd lvl10 piece of armour on the back.

I have seen people trying to do this mission with JSF and Bell-22 as they think they are unhittable in these ships. Those people lasted about 20secs in the mission. Ifyou try dogfight the formation you will get absolutely creamed in a few seconds.

I never managed to get a missile lock at any point on the ships in the formation, whether this was due to the general lag in Kassh space or that the closing speed between myself and the ships was probably around 2500, so I removed missiles after they didn't seem to work and beefed up shields and armour.

The formation ships all fly at least 1000+ so a healthy speed adavantage is essential.

Something that has just come to mind is perhaps you could get some buddies to give you an in flight repair if you stick one near Kash station and one at the reb oupost end, technically not soloing but may work.

I hope this is of some use to you, asthis is not speculation it's a working Tactic.
