I've out fitted one in my YT-1300 and when I use it all my direction controls invert (moving left makes me go right etc) and after the booster runs out of energy my speed goes to 0 and then starts to pick up.
Anyone else had this?

I have the same problem with my elite booster. I manage to hit 1956 Speed with booster and engine overload 4. However it's usefulness is coming into play as the controls invert and you immediately slow down after the burn.
With normal loot/RE boosters it works normally. Boosts speed, and remains there. I don't know if this is intended or not, but elite boosters have their place as reverse thrusters.
It's the fastest way to go from 1350 to 0. Otherwise it takes forever to stop. I just turn on my boosters, turn them off, and voila. You're at 0 speed.
Anyways, it really depends on what you use it for.
If you're planning on doing corvette/gunboat runs then you need normal looted/RE boosters. For dogfight chases, I recommend the elite as you can stop on a dime. For example if someone is chasing you from behind and whaling away, Reverse Thrust, have your opponent overshoot, get a lock with your three Image Rec II missiles, and fire away. This is akin to what Maverick did in Top Gun.

Running EO4 fixes the droping to zero bug for me. The inverted controls happens with any booster in a PoB, not just elite boosters. Well, it does for me anyway.

The inverted control happens on any ship, and with any booster. But most ships decelerate fast enough that you don't notice it. The only ships that you can really see it on are the B-Wing, the TIE Bomber (not much, but slightly noticable) and PoB ships. The bug has existed since launch of JtL.

Didn't know that, only had it ever happen in my YT.
