I use a Logitech Extreme3D Pro...
BUT a good friend of mine just hooked up the PS2 Controller through the MayFlash Super Dual Box Pro (USB converter for the PS2 Controllers) and I gave a try at setting it up for SWG.
I have a few questions for setting up the button mapping...
It seems to have designated the Right Analog Stick as the Throttle Slider and I can't seem to unbind that and rebind it to somewhere else...
What is worse is that the stick as the throttle slider functions foolishly... when pushed full right it goes max speed, full left equals zero speed, BUT any time you leave the stick in the middle, it leaves the ship in 50% throttle (yeah it works like a "slider"... but it's a stick, so that's not a good design).
So, is there a way to assign another part of the controller as the throttle slider?
Is there a way to make the stick work as the throttle slider, but not shift to 50% throttle in neutral? (I would guess not... and that's why I'd prefer to just make up and down work like + and - for the throttle (preferably on the direction Pad...)
Which leads me to the other issue, the Direction Pad seems to be set as the POV Hat and I seemingly cannot alter that either.
Ideally, I'd like to change the Direction Pad to the throttle control and one of the analog sticks to the POV, while the other Stick functions as the Pitch and Yaw control stick (with R2 and L2 as roll).
So, I'm just looking for possible users of these devices and thier suggestions/keymappings and advice.
(Yeah, it's my friend's, but I was considering trying this approach out as well... I love my Logitech when it works right....BUT...)
Thanks for any help!
May the force be with you.

I use a similar converter for my other games but love my logitech for galaxies (lotsa buttons)
I would recommend going into your options menu and reconfiguring the controls. Clear the binding for throttle slider. and rebind throttle up/down to the desired buttons.

I use a similar game pad. I believe what I did is I found the throttle slider in the Option>Controls>Keymap I believe it is then in the ship tab, but not sure, from there find the throttle slide, and clear the binding.
Or you can find another command to rebind to the analog, which will then cause the analog to clear its previous binding.

Yes, that's exactly what I had to do... just clear the throttle slider binding and use Thruttle Up & Throttle Down bindings elsewhere.
I too prefer my Logitech (So far) because, as you mention... 12 buttons is nice, hehe. Also, I like a true throttle slide.
I think my friend was really liking the controller now though, so that's great!
She actually rebound everything on there to her liking (And wasn't as disappointed with some of the limitations like I was, hehe).
She had only ever used the mouse before, though... So I think it's a major improvement (No offense to mouse pilots!).
Thanks for the responses.
All in all, having a converter for PS2 Controllers is a very cool thing, whether or not we use it for SWG.
I'm going to have to see what two-player games I might find (Possibly for some classic console emulators, hehe) for us to use the dual hookup with.
Thanks again!
